Can the owner of a property allow a wayspot to be placed?

If the owner allows people to use the playground can it be a wayspot?

If it on land that is “Single Family Private Residence” then it is a definite “No”.

Hello and welcome,

It does depend on where the playground is located. For example, if it is at a local park or business, it may be eligible. If it’s at a K-12 school or on single family private residential property (SFPRP), those are ineligible locations. Even if the owner says they are ok with a Wayspot being on their property but said property is SFPRP or another ineligible location, it shouldn’t be submitted.

Here is the list of ineligible locations from the Rejection Criteria in the help pages:

Ineligible location, place, or object

  • Location is unsafe, without pedestrian access
  • Location is a private residential property (even if historical), farmland, a K12 and under school (preschool, primary/elementary, secondary/high school), child care/daycare center, rehabilitation center, safety shelter
  • Location is an adult-oriented store or service, such as a liquor store, shooting range, fire arm store, or provides sexual and/or adult content
  • Location obstructs the driveways of emergency services or may interfere with the operations of fire stations, police stations, hospitals, military bases, industrial sites, power plants, or air traffic control towers
  • Location, place, or object is temporary, or highly unlikely to be permanent
  • Sensitive locations like gravestones (not associated with a significant/historical figure) and cemeteries
