I have been adding information that includes city information to the title and description for these and they are being approved only to be replaced with less accurate information later on.
But when I am going on my contributions page and looking at the edits I am seeing the same boilerplate titles and descriptions replacing more accurate information.
I don’t see the point in even trying to add more information than “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” and their generic description if they are going to keep submitting these until local reviewers approve them even if the information this person or group are stripping local information to harmonize these churches nationally.
I remember when I got the edits for the church in my city, and I rejected both. I haven’t seen another edit come through since then, which was back in June, if I remember correctly. I also checked the Wayspot, and the edits seemed to be rejected by the community as well, and nothing has changed.

The language is quite frankly proselytizing and could be considered by some to be offensive. “Visitors are always welcome” is clearly not a guarantee when these nominations very much seem to be inserted by spoofers, and it comes off as quite disconcerting to those with legitimate concerns with the Mormon faith. I strongly feel that these edits should not go through, and that accounts with evidence of spoofing, should they exist, be disciplined.
Maybe when the church finds out that they are next to Johnny Cypher (word for removing your clothes in a provocative manner that rhymes with nipper) Extraordinaire and Only Farmers Management they will be less inclined to welcome ‘everyone’.
It is a church founded in the US, with most locations within the US, especially Utah.
Oh, and they used to allow polygamous marriages. It was because of this that Utah didn’t become a state until the church dropped polygamy from their beliefs. There are still some who practice it, but not officially with the church.
I may be the only person on this forum that doesn’t have a problem with these edits. I vote and move on. I’m also not easily convinced to do something, so these would never get me to visit an LDS church. I have respect for the LDS. Also and more importantly. There are much bigger issues to me than what the description is on a church POI. However, carry on. I need to find the @26thDoctor and have a cold drink.
Look, I think I’m right about EVERYTHING!! But I am not the only one that plays this game and these games. If someone has a better description than I… go ahead and go for it. It’s Wayfarer not BlameJamal-farer.
As you said, I love my descriptions. But I don’t get offended if one of mine gets replaced. This gives me an idea… I’m going to try something! @RoIi112 Unknowingly gives me a lot of really good ideas. So, if I do some new and it’s a hit. Someone check me and make sure I give him the credit!
I didn’t submit a description edit, as it doesn’t have “that” description yet. I just submitted an edit for the title to note where it’s located, and it was rejected by the community.
Also, I see nominations for their new locations, and they do not have the titles and descriptions we’ve been seeing as of late. I actually had to reject one recently, as it was still under construction; come back when it’s open.
