Why were these edits rejected?

I submitted this edit and tried to add an updated photo of the church’s sign since I don’t know if the others ever existed. If so, the name changed years ago. Anyway, what would you guess are the reasons why these were rejected? I did add the photo to Google Maps. That will be identical. I appealed one rejection. Naturally, that was not accepted.

Yes, I know I showed my name in one of the Google Maps screenshots. That appears in my email address since it’s the same name.
Suggestions (Google Maps shows what I claim to be true on Watt Street.)

You would need to ask to get the old church waypoint removed and submit the new church as its own waypoint

why would that be a reasonable thing to do?

The next time that I see this in history in Ingress, I will do as suggested and nominate again. I don’t visit there often but can again.

When a restaurant changes ownership, it seems we are meant to remove any existing Wayspots and nominate new ones so the community can judge the merits of the new establishment.

Do you want reviewers to decide how they feel about the name or denomination or other particulars of a church? There have been problems in places where - say - Catholicism dominated and the locals would vote against churches that hosted other affiliations. It’s a bad scene.

Isn’t it vastly preferable to recognize that this remains somebody’s church so long as the evidence supports the basic fact?

Doesn’t matter what I want… this seems to be the process Niantic wants. OP asked a question and I answered it.

Except Niantic policy says that the social/exploration qualities of a restaurant are tied to the decisions and offerings of the proprietor.

They have not offered any such guidance with regard to churches.
