Community rejected, appeals approved

If its incorrectly approved in SFPRP, its just waiting on borrowed time until it got reported for removal

Staff could also take a look at this again and remove it themselves, since they do keep an eye on the forums.

Hey there.

I moved your comments and the applicable replies to a new thread. This helps make sure responses in the original post remain on-topic for their situation and helps you get the support you may need.

Hi,
I’m not familiar with the databases could you show a screenshot of what the property info is like here please as it would be helpful.

Ah ok thanks.
There is a fence on the outer road that goes up to the sign so the sign looks like part of the boundary. But I am not familiar with USA databases and where you would find boundaries. Some of the older streetview shows some possible boundaries on one side, but I don’t know status.
Perhaps someone can look so we can be clear about this aspect.

My opinion is staff (and community) reviewers should be more conservative with these types of residential locations. It would be unfortunate if a property owner pressed charges and we had another lawsuit and it was a Niantic approved location, whether or not that article holds any relevance, still, and I’m not sure how well criteria pages hold up the jist of it.

I also have the opinion that staff is capable of doing diligence if said locations are necessary for further evaluation. It only took me a few minutes to find the assessor page. I’m not positive which side of the street this particular sign is, but both sides show the sign as being within the zoning of the private residence.

Wayfarer pages Content Guidelines have made it clear that there is no ā€œblack and whiteā€ where ā€œplaces are importantā€ but from what I’ve seen they tend to be more strict when it comes to following the location guidelines.

No, thanks. Not my purview. But it is Niantic’s.

I’m not sure what we ā€œagree to disagreeā€ but we’ve both made our points.

I just googled Atlanta GA interactive boundary map and found it on the city’s website. I then search for the address in your Street View screenshot, and while I couldn’t work out the boundary lines, clicking on where the signs are came back with it being zoned as R-2A, single family residential, as the main zone.

Doing a web search is how I find most city boundary maps to look at, as they are usually online and available to the public to use. I’ve even done it for my city, especially for Wayspots that may be on ineligible locations, before I report them for removal.
