Confused about denial of pokestop

Found this really nice art mural in a neighbourhood so I went onto submit it for a pokestop, but the ai denied it then I applied for an appeal and the reason was that 8 ball murals are too common? This makes no sense as that is completely incorrect, I don’t think I’ve seen anywhere in which an 8 ball pool mural is common

Hello and Welcome,

If you would like advice from other wayfarers then please include all the details… Photos, Title, Description, Supplemental and Location.

Your images have just been posted and IMO this is Graffiti that is not eligible. It does not look like an authorised Mural that would be. If this is incorrect then you need to show evidence.

Good Luck.

Again, just an opinion but these look like something that anybody with a bit of artistic merit (definitely not me) could create just to get a waypoint.

Am mostly just confused about the appeal denial being cause there is apparently a common occurrence of painted 8 ball pool murals when that’s simply not the case at all… I just dont think that’s a valid reason for a denial

The appeals reviewers seem to be working with scripts, and doing their best to adjust them to the individual review. I believe they were trying to tell you that this does not look like a work of art, just something anyone could put up, hence “common.” Unless you provided links to prove the significance of this being here, I believe the rejection was correct, even if the statement is a bit garbled.

It’s a shame cause I thought the 8 balls looked quite cool and it isn’t something you’d normally see. So be it I guess

I do use a very simplified set of rules for the majority of “Street Art”.

Authorised Mural - Not on location such as School / SFPRP = Accept. There will be evidence such as local news site, official site of the artist etc.

Not authorised = Graffiti = Vandalism = Reject

This is not 100% but works for the majority.
