Dark Mode - Have you heard of it?

Bug Reports should include the following and any additional information you feel is necessary to aid in the investigation of the bug.

  • Description of the issue: You don’t test dark mode
  • Date first (or most recently) experienced: This has been a problem for quite some time, but is most recently experienced with the criteria library
  • Device type, model, and operating system: Not relevant, but iPhone, iOS 17
  • Game & Game Version (if applicable): Wayfarer, 5-13-0-b27bb425-May-17-13-08

Maybe you should have held the release another day so you could test it and fix it:

This is a known issue that first popped up after the Oct 2023 update to the current thumbs up/thumbs down system. There were others posting about it in the old forums, and I think someone may have posted about it again once we moved over here.

Since it’s been around for several months, it has nothing to do with the new sign-in option that was rolled back.

I would also recommend making sure to have dark mode switched on in settings, as I am not having this issue, so it may have been fixed.

The login changes were rolled back, but probably because they broke logins, not because they were a crime against dark mode.

The issues with help content identified in the original post remain issues.

Fellow dark mode user who may have mentioned issues with the review flow.

THAT is a known issue that affects everybody who fails to set a setting properly.

I’m not really sure what you were adding to this conversation, though. Is nobody supposed to mention issues they are experiencing?

You seem to be less and less constructive and helpful as of late. Please consider what you are about to post before doing so, as attacking someone for trying to help is not helpful.

I don’t have these issues with the help section in dark mode, so it’s not affecting everyone. I’m just simply trying to assist, make sure that you have the right settings on. Nothing to get in a tizzy about.

Perhaps someone could point out where and when. Perhaps lead by example.

Like I just said, it’s not affecting me. Here’s what I see:

I do have dark mode on for both my computer OS, phone OS, and Wayfarer.

I never used the new login, as I was offline during the launch and then rollback. It’s possible that it may be affecting those that used the new login before it was rolled back, but as I’m not a expert with computers and websites, I can’t say for sure.

You actually did post a screenshot from the Wayfarer FAQ page in your original post.

Also, since there was a thread already set up for the login issue, a little odd to post about it here, when it’s a completely different issue.

You’re right, I did! It’s great to see that Niantic actually fixed some of the issues!

It’s too bad the page that triggered this post in the first place still hasn’t been fixed, and there are still a bunch of broken images:

















The login issue with it being broken has a separate thread. The login issue where dark mode is not tested, yet again, belongs in this one.
