Hello, after requesting a couple of Wayspot restoration appeals back in late 2023/early 2024 we’ve noticed two PoIs that still haven’t appeared in Pokémon Go, despite there being no conflicting Wayspots in the surroundings, even if they were in isolated locations.
One is located in Ranica, Italy:
• The Yellow Submarine: 45.712533,9.722839
While the other one is in Seriate, Italy:
• Storica Ciminiera dell’Industria Chimica Felli: 45.682788, 9.724635
We suspect this to be a case of dead S2 L17 cells, or otherwise related to something gone wrong during the restoration process. This happened well before Ingress Last Sync, so they are featured in both Ingress and Wayfarer but don’t appear as Pokéstops despite the inclusion rules. Making them visible would also minimize duplicate submissions from inattentive Wayfinders. Thanks!
We dont have wayspot map for pogo so we dont have all data here.
What make you sure that there is no other wayspot in the cell?
Have you check if there is any sponsored/imported wayspot? Have you check pogo submission page if there is anything in the area? This one need people to be onsite

The first one seems alone in the cell
The 2nd doesnt seems to have safe pedestrian access. So it might got reported
U need to go onsite and check of the wayspot is still there or no. If its gone meaning it got reported and gone. Not a dead cell, just empty cell without wayspot
Yes you’re right, I should’ve included more information. We have very few sponsored Wayspots if any at all in Italy so I’m sure that’s not the problem. Last time I checked this was the situation in the surroundings:
The other Wayspots sometimes appear as Power Spots but this is the only one that should become a Pokéstop. I currently don’t have any screenshots for the second Wayspot as it’s in a different town but I might ask players in my local community.
Anyways, the pedestrian access should no longer be an issue, that’s the reason the restoration appeal got accepted in the first place. It used to be a Gym in Pokémon Go up to 2018 but it was deleted and restored through our appeal in 2024. There were a couple of recent urbanistic interventions that made the chimney more safe to interact with as an industrial architecture spot. Both satellite imagery and Street View are not up to date, but you can find various articles on local newspapers (which I’m gonna link if I can find them)
Well just because its appealed and succeed doesnt means it cant be reported again. I have seen wayspot got removed and restored several times(removal - restore war). Since we dont have wayspot map, i cant tell for sure if the wayspot still there or no. Anyway while waiting staff to read, try getting more latest info. If its really gone because its reported again, then its not really dead spot.
Nope unfortunately nothing, I waited until this evening’s sync just in case the fix wasn’t live yet but it doesn’t seem to have solved it.
I think this might have something to do with the fact that the two Wayspots were restored after being gone for so many years, both were removed from Ingress around 2018 and recovered in late 2023 through the appeal form. I can ask the person who originally requested the appeal hoping they still have the ticket number… We think it was the standard procedure, but maybe they got mistakenly blacklisted from Pokémon Go and only appeared on Ingress as a result.
In that case it might not even be an issue with the cells at all. May I suggest temporarily deleting the two affected Wayspots and reinstating them as if they were new nominations with identical properties (same title, photos and everything besides their database identifier) to see if that solves it? Just an idea haha
I suggest waiting another 24 hours. The wayfarer sync with Pokémon Go has often been skipped on Mondays since Max Mondays got introduced to the game. And at any rate, even if this wasn’t the case, wayfarer related stuff can still take up to 48 hours to be reflected in game.
Still no Pokéstops, they both showed up as Power Spots (as part of the regular rotation) so I guess that’s at least something, but we believe they should have become stops according to the inclusion rules as there’s really nothing else around
At this point I’m not sure what to suggest, it doesn’t seem like forcing a sync would help, but I’m also not sure they’re blacklisted either considering they turned into Power Spots. My only idea would be to substitute the Wayspot details over to a new and identical nomination
