3 Wayspots in an L17 cell, none showing up in Pokemon Go

I have reported this multiple times using different reporting methods and it always just gets brushed aside, ignored, or I get the generic “Not all Wayspots will appear in Pokemon Go” spiel despite all evidence I provide showing that I know how Wayspots work and that there is CLEARLY A PROBLEM HERE.

There are now THREE Wayspots located within the same Level 17 S2 cell at a mall in my city and NONE of them are showing up in Pokemon Go. Here’s a brief explanation of each one…

“Shogun Japanese Steak House” was once in Pokemon Go as a PokeStop, before I put in an edit to move it to its correct location. When the location edit was approved, it then disappeared from Pokemon Go because at the time, another Wayspot titled “Rock’n 50’s Cafe” was already in that L17 cell. A couple days later, “Rock’n 50’s Cafe” was also moved to its correct location, which was in the L17 cell to the east. “Rock’n 50’s Cafe” remained in Pokemon Go, but “Shogun Japanese Steak House” never reappeared, even though the cell that it was in was now vacated in Pokemon Go. Both of these edits were 100% true and accurate, so there was no Wayfarer abuse happening with moving them.

“Sakura” is a statue located inside the Shogun restaurant and it has always appeared only in Ingress, because it had gotten approved after the cell was already occupied, but prior to the edits to the two previously mentioned Wayspots.

“Gateway Mall Food Court” is a brand new Wayspot that just got approved very early in the day today, prior to the cutoff time for stuff appearing today. I submitted it in an attempt to try and cause something to happen with this cell, to maybe “refresh” it and cause one of these three Wayspots to show up in Pokemon Go. Imagine my shock when I pulled up to the mall today and saw that there was STILL no PokeStop in this cell, despite there now being THREE Wayspots located within it. All 3 are live in Ingress.

Below are several screenshots showing the cell layout and all the Wayspots that are located around these three, taken from the Ingress map. I also included screenshots from Pokemon Go showing that not a single one of these Wayspots are in the game. They’re all listed as Wayspots in other Niantic games. Again, ONE of these should be in Pokemon Go. I don’t care which one, but something needs to be adjusted to cause this to happen.

I understand that Wayfarer mods/admins probably can’t do anything about it, but if this can be forwarded to whoever can fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. It’s still practically impossible to report issues like this to the proper people and I don’t understand why. If there’s a direct email I can use to report this myself, please let me know.

Have you considered whether Niantic may be punishing you for actions from a prior lifetime? Consider reflecting on whether one of your past selves may have done something which would be a violation of Niantic’s player guidelines.

Just to confirm, those other portals located in other cells at the mall show up in PGO? My only thought is a geoblock on the property, but I would think it would apply to the whole mall if that were that case.

Yes, all the other portals are in Pokemon Go. There is no geoblock on the property. This all started after the location edits started going through.

Maybe invisible sponsored or community ambassador pokestops are blocking the cell?

I’m gonna say no. This is a pretty dead mall. Nothing of significance that could possibly be sponsored here.

Nope. Everything that’s been approved in this mall is in Ingress. Nothing that’s too close to other Wayspots to not appear in either game.

Just have to ask: where is the S2 cell map you posted coming from? If it’s a third party source, it may not be accurate.

It was an extension I downloaded two years ago. I can’t remember what it was called, I just remember it was a pain to get it working. But I’ve used it as a reference every time I see something in voting and it’s always been accurate, right up to the smallest pixel when something’s been pinned on a border. I included the coordinates so anyone can plug them in and see where they lie if they’re using a similar map.

There have been some reports of “dead cells” that don’t refresh. Some of the Niantic staff have stepped in and claimed to have fixed it but I don’t immediately recall if the fix worked.

I would hope they’d find a system fix and not rely on all the actions that lead to somebody coming here to ask.

I’d suggest tagging the staff in a few days if they don’t find their way here by then.
