Recently i got warning in the game for bad quality submission and an email for the same. I have been playing Pokemon Go since last 1 year, and i jave made 2 contributions only. Both of them approved. Now i have seen a recent trend where due fake reporting or for some reason players are getting email for bad submission. This is very discouraging for players who wants to contribute to wards the map in the game. Fior instance i will not contribute towards map anytime in future. And i know a lot of players who feared for getting banned for no reason.

Whilst I can appreciate that getting a warning can be quite alarming, especially when it comes out of the blue, it is only a warning. It’s designed to let you know that you did something wrong and allow you to learn from the mistake.
The email you received should’ve told you which wayspot the warning was about, and what the issue was with it. If you didn’t receive an email like this, one of the staff here can DM you with details on why you got the warning.

It says: You have violated the following policies: Bad quality submissions. For more details, look for previous emails sent by noreply@nianticlabs.com.
There are no previous emails. Only 2 contributions i ever made, both approved.
I will not be making any future contribution fearing ban for no reasons.
I have spent a lot in this game and i do fear ban. Like many if my friends. All of them have stopped contributing to Wayfarer.
This is very discouraging. On one hand Niantic has introduced a medal in the game for contributions, on the other hand, they are sending warning emails for no reason.
Also, like to add here, I have not made any contributions recently .
I will not be making any in future or may be stop playing game completely.
While it may not impact anyone, but if this trend continues many other players will follow.
I do not want any warnings in My Account when i have not done anything wrong.

Hi @vaibhav1992 ! The medal you see in Pokemon Go, if that’s your game, is for successful reviews in Wayfarer…not nominations in game. I know that doesn’t cover your core question, but I hope you’ll benefit anyway!

If you could please review my reply. Looks like i got a warning for a submission which i made few months back and was already approved. Does it mean I can get another warning again for the same submission?
You can get warned for submissions already approved. However, you will not be reprimanded for the same submission again.

I Myself have a similiar story by the topic.
I and my mum got fully incorrect warnings, claiming that adding „My photos, from my old phone” (ML kept incorrectly rejecting photos extracted via onedrive as third party, making my extreamly low rejection rate (normally about one per ten or twenty nominations) way higher (up to half rejected) and when appealing these all i got was that „it’s a part of our anti-abuse program” or something in that shape) into supporting information is „INFLUENCING REVIEVERS”. And that makes no sence. Influencing revievers is saying „Please move this to the left location, it will free up this cell/Portal”. When my mum appealed, from what i understand the answer she got was basically Yes but rejection criteria (Also got correct nominations like „Historical Sign - Opening of the Train Station in (…)” but in polish, with the photos being of said sign, rejected by the Wayfarer team right before the incorrect warn for „Incorrect Name”, and so on. And these were used as the argument not to revert the decision.) Both of these warns were around 20 and 10 days ago. That fully discourages me, who started playing both games just to add more wayspots, from trying to add anything. I got 1 warn last year that I understand, and a 2nd one that i see as controversial. However i fully understand why these two were placed. Now these new warns are just…. I don’t even know what to call it.
When i started adding, i hoped that wayfarer would only evolve into something better and better, maybe even bring infinite nominations back (Would love that). With these warns, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
There are different things that could be seen as influencing reviewers. Asking to move a nomination to be in an empty cell may not be seen as all as influencing, but it is abusive, as all locations must be accurate; if the nomination is in the same cell as another current Wayspot, that’s where the pin should stay.
Influencng can also be seen as using codewords from the different games in the title/description, with some seeing it as influencing as well in the supporting info. I don’t find it an issue when someone says in the supporting info “I think this should be a stop/portal because,” but others do. It’s possible that the appeals team sees these as influencing, whenever any game terms are mentioned in the supporting info, so it’s just best not to use them whenever possible.
I really don’t know anything about OneDrive, other than it’s cloud storage, but if any of the photos are publicly searchable online, that would make them 3rd party. All photos, even taken by you, must not be uploaded to a 3rd party website that publicly posts the photos. I personally do not post any of my phiotos I use for Wayfarer online, even in cloud storage, just to be on the safe side. I might move them from my phone to my laptop or other external storage, but I keep them offline.
I think it may help you to share some of your nominations via the Nomination Support topic, to see if there is anything that could be improved upon, or if there could be any criteria issues. We’re more than happy to take a look and give suggestions, so don’t be afraid to use that topic.
As for your warnings, staff do monitor the forums, so one may contact you back in regards to them via DM with more info.
Nono, i didn’t write anything else than „My photos, from my old phone” in supporting info. And the warn said specifically that the supporting info is the problem. I dont publish my photos anywhere, i only sometimes do to a chech maps app after they get accepted.
That’s very specific wording that could be seen as a calling card for abuse. Those words are completely unnecessary as you should be using your own photos from your phone and you including those words isn’t going to change anyone’s perception on it, if not maybe cause more doubt. You generally want to prove something, not just say it.

Yes, we don’t need to know how the photo was taken or what device was used. There are many who use a separate digital camera than what’s on their phones to take their photos, then transfer them to their phones before submitting, and that’s fine, as long as the photo hasn’t been uploaded to a 3rd party website already.
I know, if I had a really good DSLR camera, I might use it when taking photos of my nominations, but I would never say how I took the photo, as that’s not needed.
How am i going to prove to ML that the photos are mine?! It’s the ML that keeps autorejecting all of them, and since i did that it stopped.
All i am saying is that that is NOT an reason for an warn. Or an suspension for that matter.

Let’s please not turn someone else’s thread into speculation about a totally different warning and its reasons and mechanisms. I removed part of this discussion and am closing this.
