every time I try to submit a pokestop in pokemon go I get this error lately.
“Email required
You need a linked email to nominate a PokéStop. Link a Google account in Settings or update your Facebook account with your email to proceed.”
It’s been happening for a few weeks. The other day I was going to write this post to ask for help and when I went to get a screenshot of the error, it worked. It took me to the nomination page like it always used to. I wasn’t prepared to nominate right then so I closed out of it and figured I would go back later. Went back again today and there is the error again. I do have an email connected to my account. I have tried unlinking emails in accounts and then re-linking them as well as everything else I can think of. I tried logging in on a different phone but I had the same problem. I logged out of my account on Pokémon go and tried logging in again. I tried logging out and logging in with a different method. Nothing seems to work. I tried googling it and those answers didn’t help because I’ve already done all of that and I do have an email linked.

This most likely is related to your Apple ID or Facebook, not your Google account. Apple ID allows for one to have a relay email address provided, so you may have to get that set up correctly.
Google doesn’t allow one to hide their email address, but Apple ID and Facebook do. Apple ID can provide a relay email address; Facebook gives the option to not provide an email address, but one must be provided. More info can be found here:

Which login methods did you attempt. Loging in with the Gmail should work.

My email is attached to my Facebook and I use my email to login with it. I don’t hide it at all. I have never chosen to hide my email. It does this when I logout and login again with the same method or with other methods. Lately I have been logging in with google, which I did this time. I tried completely removing each login method from my profile and trying again but it still does the same thing wether I have them all connected or just one.
That’s what I have been doing. It doesn’t make any sense. I have tried removing the others and only having one login method but that didn’t work, no matter which one I left. I didn’t do anything differently at all and it just stopped working one day.
I tried force closing the app and opening it in again and it’s still having this issue but now all of my emails are listed under my accounts. I didn’t change anything or logout/login. I’ll try removing Facebook again and making sure that when I link it I don’t accidentally hide my email. That would be really weird if it did fix it because I have not unlinked my Facebook account since a while before it randomly worked that one time.
It didn’t work and I can’t even find the option to hide my email with Facebook so I don’t think that’s it.
Your email doesn’t show in PoGo though, so when you linked it, you must have selected to not provide your email address for Facebook.
You will either have to unlink your Facebook account from your PoGo account, or give permission to PoGo/Niantic profile to have access to your email address from Facebook.
You’ll have no issues logging into the Wayfarer website with your current login info, but if you don’t fix the issue with Facebook with PoGo, you won’t be able to submit via the app, as Wayfarer requires an email address to email you after submitting, when a nomination/edit has been accepted or not, etc.

It looks like you may have created your Facebook account with a mobile number, or you may have declined to share your Facebook email address with Pokémon GO. As a result, your Pokémon GO account does not have an email address associated with it. In order for us to move forward, you’ll need to add an email address to your account so that we can be sure that we’re communicating with the account owner. There are two options for this:
Option 1: Add an email address to your Facebook account.
- Visit Facebook’s General Account Settings page. Make sure you have an email address listed under Contact. Click “Add another email or mobile” to add a new email address to your account.
- Next, share your email address with the Pokémon GO app. Start by visiting the “Your Facebook Apps and Websites Settings” page from the list of connected apps. Select email address under “Info you provide to this app”.

Option 2: Use Google Log in method to sign in to Wayfarer
`I see that there is already an email account connected to your Google log in method. You can use this log in method to sign in to Wayfarer.
