Thursday is the only day off for most of us in the US. I have worked many Fridays after Thanksgiving. Yes, schools take a longer break so students have Friday off, too, but most businesses are open on Friday, and I’m not just talking the places to go shopping.
We really don’t know what Niantic does for their US employees for Thanksgiving, if they get a long weekend, if they have minimal staff, or if they have full staff on Friday, then the weekend off. Slme could even be working remotely.
Even if the team did work on Friday the fix may take longer to identify and correct than one work day. I honestly wasn’t expecting a fix until Monday. I have seen a lot of businesses outside of retail and essential services take Thursday and Friday off and resume work on Monday.
Hopefully ML resumes this week but they could have taken it offline for nominations on purpose to update something. There was hints they are planning on working on how power spots are integrated into wayfarer regarding edits. I took the post by NianticThibs that they were working on a major update soon potentially before the end of 2024.
Thanx for confirming that it is a general issue with ML. Was wondering and checking with locals to see co firm before looking here. Hope it gets fixed soon… because now its confusing. I have 10 fresh ones in voting or waiting and in parallel i got 2 confirmations from NIA back that were submitted on June 1st (so it was done by ML).
My first fear was that that they messed the logic up and leave the communitynto do the work and let ML to kick in after half a year
Will check back to see when the fix will be announced
A silly question … since I am new in the chats here… how fast do things like this ML get resolved and the i fo gets circulated here?
Will there be an anouncement? Or will there be some replys in the issue reporting posts?
I have a few things on standby and I would like to leave them to ML and get in in jngress in a week and not half a year, so I rather wait for a fix now hehehhe
There isn’t a set answer
It has varied. Often once we get a problem acknowledged (as this one has been) things go quiet as the team work on the issue.
The team will often post again once they can feel sure that the issue is fixed.
So there can be a silence that feels long especially if it’s something we have come to see as standard and rely on, but they will be working hard to resolve.
In the case of Emily they have put a lot of effort into getting the model up and working well and it has been a huge benefit to bringing down resolve times.
It is in their interests and ours to get it back in action.
