Exclusion of a Gym and Route (route ok) in My Area

Good morning!

I am digodvs, and I am reaching out to the community for help with a problem that my friends and I are experiencing here where we live.

I would like to know how to proceed with an issue that has occurred in our local area. Four years ago, we managed to request a PokéStop, which later became a Gym here in our neighborhood. The area has many children and several nearby players, and this Gym was located at a strategic point to facilitate playing, raiding, and earning coins for everyone.

With the future addition of routes, the area improved even more. We created a good route for walking pets and exercising. Since there are children here, it became excellent for parents to encourage exercise for the little ones.

However, recently, some malicious user reported the route as invalid, although it is not. Thanks to options provided by the company, we were able to reactivate it and everything went back to normal. There are several routes in the area, but this one was special as it provided safety for all visitors.

I believe that the same person who reported the route, not satisfied, did something that caused the Gym and the route to be removed. Another PokéStop has turned into a Gym, but it is far from the area and does not provide the safety for children at certain times. We are dealing with a very strange situation and do not know how to proceed or what measures to take.

Unfortunately, the support team only sent us a link for reporting or removing inappropriate PokéStops or Gyms.

How can we proceed to restore the Gym to its original location and recover the route that was removed?

Is it still there? You say that it’s been in the game for four years but when I go to the Street view of the location you gave I don’t see it anywhere. Street view is a little older but it’s just from two years ago newer than what you said, the way spot is. Are you able to take a photo of it?

Hi friend.
The location was created 4 years ago, which is why you no longer see it. It was created during the pandemic.

If the graffiti is gone, then it was properly removed. It can’t maintain a way spot once what that way spot was marking is gone. As noted above, you may want to try nominating something else in the same area.

Hi man! Again.

Before requesting “Cara Vermelha,” I tried “Judô” a few times, but it was rejected. So, we changed our plans and requested the location you indicated, “Cara Vermelha,” and worked to have it turned into a Gym.

And which site can you use to view the cells? Could you provide that information?

The Judo place seems like it meets the criteria more than the graffiti so I’m not sure why it was rejected.

The image is from IITC. It doesn’t show every single Wayspot on the map but covers probably 99% of them.

What really frustrates me is seeing a user do this, harming an entire community that plays in the area. There are many children here, and the game has helped encourage exercise.
It’s outrageous…

If a point of interest no longer exist, it really should be removed. It’s probably less malicious and more just cleaning up the area. I could be wrong, but it was the right thing to do even if it is very frustrating which I understand.

If you don’t mind you can post the submission you made for Judo Katas to see if it can be tweaked a little bit to get it through.

There are plenty of people here who have made similar submissions and are familiar with the pictures/text needed you could then make an almost identical route to the previous one if it gets accepted.

And did you appeal the judo rejection?

At the time, I didn’t do that; I would only try again now. But I want to see if I can recover that Gym or find out how it was removed

If another Pokéstop became a Gym, then even if you do get this restored, it won’t become a Gym when it reappears.

That being said, I’ve looked through street view from various years and I’m not seeing any evidence that this ever existed at that location. Can you use an app like GPS Map Camera and take current photos of it? If it no longer exists, or never existed here in the first place, then it shouldn’t be restored.
