Sponsor gym location is wrong (reupload)

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

real location https://maps.app.goo.gl/3PAkyvvAC7uKgYee8

  • City: Jingwan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul
  • Country: south korea
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any): It’s been more than two years since the gym was built, and the location is favorable to a certain person as an apartment, and I’m not getting an e-mail for a response when I apply. Please correct it. The location itself is not the location of the convenience store at all.

In a previous topic, Niantic has said to report these this way:

Good luck! When using this form, do NOT respond to the automated email that asks for your credentials. You will receive another email in a bit from a person beginning with a person’s name and then you can respond.

I don’t see link please give me sorry

The link at the top is this

That will take you to this form

Same as last time, but I’ve already applied inside the game and received an application email, but I’m not getting an answer email. I need the help of the wayfarer team.

Lol and I gave you the same advice on that post:

I expect that these will be merged. I have not seen you post a screenshot of a rejected report to be handled here as an appeal. Hoping you get a reply from someone who can help.

It can take a long time for Niantic to come to a decision on an edit for a sponsored Wayspot. I submitted a location edit for a sponsored Wayspot in December 2024, and I have yet to hear back. The emails for sponsored edits also look different than edit for non-sponsored Wayspots.

Sponsored edit email:

Note how no further updates will be provided from Niantic on the edit.

Non-sponsored edit email:

Others have noted that they are done edits for sponsored Wayspots, and nothing has been done for years after reporting. Niantic noted that there are several different channels they have to go through, that they are unable to discuss with us, in order to complete these sponsored Wayspot edits.

I can see why it’d be difficult. The sponsoring company gave Niantic a list of coordinates, and some money to put PokeStops at those coordinates. Niantic is just holding up their part of the contract.

To approach a paying customer and say, “we think what you sent us was wrong,” is awkward. Then to change it, would be different from changing a Wayspot that’s visible in all games - it’s on a different database, without the tools of the Lightship database proper.

Not impossible, but awkward and lengthy - and Niantic’s motivation is probably low for such onesies.
