I am digodvs, and I am reaching out to the community for help with a problem that my friends and I are experiencing here where we live.
I would like to know how to proceed with an issue that has occurred in our local area. Four years ago, we managed to request a PokéStop, which later became a Gym here in our neighborhood. The area has many children and several nearby players, and this Gym was located at a strategic point to facilitate playing, raiding, and earning coins for everyone.
With the future addition of routes, the area improved even more. We created a good route for walking pets and exercising. Since there are children here, it became excellent for parents to encourage exercise for the little ones.
However, recently, some malicious user reported the route as invalid, although it is not. Thanks to options provided by the company, we were able to reactivate it and everything went back to normal. There are several routes in the area, but this one was special as it provided safety for all visitors.
I believe that the same person who reported the route, not satisfied, did something that caused the Gym and the route to be removed. Another PokéStop has turned into a Gym, but it is far from the area and does not provide the safety for children at certain times. We are dealing with a very strange situation and do not know how to proceed or what measures to take.
Unfortunately, the support team only sent us a link for reporting or removing inappropriate PokéStops or Gyms.
How can we proceed to restore the Gym to its original location and recover the route that was removed?
If the pokestop/gym or Wayspot which is the correct technical term has been removed I believe a route connected to it is archived and can’t be accessed any more.
I would take @hankwolfman’s advice and post the location if you are happy to do that.
If the Wayspot was removed without any real legitimate reason it may be possible to resubmit it and then you can remake the route you all use.

The Gym was created four years ago, and like many places, it has undergone changes, and this was no exception. The issue is that it was indeed removed; there is no portal there anymore. It was created on June 19, 2020, and I have all the material related to the creation of this PokéStop. What I really want is to have it reinstated as a Gym.
The approximate location is given below, as obtained from Google Maps: 12°58’41.6"S 38°29’50.7"W
I retrieved this information from my evaluation request. I apologize for not providing an exact location of the cell, as I no longer have access to that information; the app I used to check the cells no longer works.

It might be possible to have it added to the map again. It’s think it highly unlikely that it would be readded as a gym. If it becomes a Wayspot again it may become a gym again depending on what else is nearby and what else is added nearby in the future.
The Gym’s location was chosen to comply with the cell conditions according to the creation rules. There was extensive study conducted to ensure it was created correctly, with great care taken regarding the information as well.
