Fake NCN markers (sustrans cycling routes)

I saw this (see below) in review and was suspicious due to not appearing on streetview, so I check the sustrans map. NCN 6 does go through Leighton Buzzard, but nowhere near this street, which is at the top left below East Street

There is an existing wayspot nearby for the same route, which is also not on the NCN 6 route so also fake.

Review: NCN route 6 Summer Street (51.919927, -0.655809)

Existing: National cycle network route 6 (51.919712, -0.656088)

Both markers are in very good condition. The supporting photo was not the same as the main photo, suggesting actual stickers put on to get home pokestops rather than AI.

I think it is a poor attempt of photoshopping, because this part look too “straight”?? It doesn’t bend over like it would normally be.

Ah, good spot. I could feel something was /off/ about the photo, but couldn’t identify it.

I think I’ve seen some like that, can’t remember how I voted. I did think that the stickers looked either very new or were suspect.

It is worth checking the route that is usually the give away.

I check streetview first - then the sustrans map if it isn’t visible.

Another one, same submitter, same style, same fakeness.

Title: National Cycle Network Route 6, Albany road
Location: 51.917073, -0.654510

Good description and supporting information.

@NianticAaron Can submissions from this person please be checked since they are fakes. One of them has already made it into the game (51.919643, -0.656160 “National cycle network route 6”).

NCN 6 does not go along these roads and the route markers are photoshopped.

We will have the report reviewed. Thanks,
