It’s the only restaurant in the area if you ignore the ones 160m away. It’s a very niche defniition to qualify this as being the only fast-food restaurant in town. [Edited to include the fast-food qualifier]
Given the number of other restaurants in Genzano di Roma Lazio, many of which are individual local restaurants, finding that an international chain restaurant has been rejected is not particularly surprising.
If it is indeed a special location, you will need to provide evidence of this in your supporting text. Merely stating it is not sufficient, as any submitter can claim /anything/ but it doesn’t make it true.
Being the only fast food restaurant in town (if correct) doesn’t automatically mean it’s a great place for exercise, exploration or being social with others.
Burger King is a generic chain business. I don’t see anything that makes this one stand out
Apologies, I have edited my post. It being the only fast-food restaurant in town doesn’t make it special. It being an important gathering spot might do, but you would need evidence to get past it being a generic restaurant.
I considered it special because it’s the only big chain in the area and it’s very popular among young people. But if that was the problem, why was the most famous and well-known local farm in the area rejected?
Farms were previously explicitly flagged as not being suitable for wayspots. This is less obvious now, but a lot of reviewers will remember this. Farmland is explicitly excluded, but this seems to refer to the cropland, not necessarily the driveways and buildings. Generally, a farm would have to have specific public amenities to make it suitable, such as public footpaths, cafes, playgrounds, but those would be the wayspot not the farm itself.
In more rural areas, a chain restaurant may be an extremely popular local hot spot. Supporting information should make this clear in all instances, and it is helpful to provide links to newspaper articles or reviews, if available.
I don’t think this Burger King would have the items mentioned but feel free to resubmit and include if so.
I understand the point about BK being popular with youngsters. The same is true of McD. It’s just a really hard one to get reviewers to accept as chains are an instant turn-off.
In the UK, cafes are generally good, but I am focusing on the individual local cafes, not the chains (Costa etc).
Got it. Actually, the farm is an energy spot. I wanted to nominate the welcome sign and a gazebo with a panoramic view as Wayspots. Do you think that possible?
This doesn’t count as a rural area, since it is a town of around 25,000 people. It might still be possible to qualify as a local hot spot, but with evidence.
Does that farm have explicit public access - does it welcome the public on to enjoy its amenities? If so, the gazebo and welcome sign are /possibles/
The existence of a power spot does not indicate something is suitable as a wayspot. The criteria for the imports of the power spots were much weaker than the criteria for wayspots. The power spots near me are either created from wayspots that I submitted (but couldn’t appear in Pokemon Go due to inclusion rules) or locations that are completely unsuitable as wayspots.
Sure, the farm is open to the public and also offers tastings with that panoramic view. However, my proposals for wayspots there have always been rejected.
If you want to share one (or more) of your rejected submissions for the farm, it may be possible to say what caused the rejection. Title, description, supporting, both photos and the location (which is found in the submission receipt email below the photos and looks like 50.12345,-20.12345).
I often reject when reviewing because the submission is significantly sub-standard, even when the object itself would be suitable as a wayspot. I doubt I am alone.
