I intentionally did not add more context to this appeal. It is a fire station. Period. Maps supports that. The Title says “Fire Department” and the reviewer called it a “Fire Department” and no further context should have been needed.
No, I am not. Since they are apparently content to leave them in the game now, I just voted on the better Title and did not report. I did leave the example here if they want to follow up.
You saying that “apparently” fire stations are eligible now comes off as both misleading as well as a bit sarcastic. It’s best to look at yhe wider picture here.
This fire station may have been on the map for quite some time, which is what I’ve found with most that I’ve reported and gotten removed. They may have been there before criteria was changed to state they’re no longer eligible.
Let’s wait for staff to respond to this before making assumptions and inserting advice & opinions. I’m sure a lot of us are anxious for a reply and it’s only been here for a day.
It’s still not fair for my posts, which did not go against guidelines, to be hidden. Again, just trying to help, trying to keep calm with this issue.
I think now is the time to take a minute to step back, please. There’s really no need to have the last word. We can create a discussion thread elsewhere if you have more to add.
If someone is clearly an experienced contributor and has chosen a specific way to handle their appeal, it’s probably best not to press further unless they’ve explicitly asked for help or seem genuinely unclear about something. Newer users may appreciate detailed guidance, but repeatedly challenging or questioning a veteran user after they’ve already clarified their reasoning can come off as dismissive or even condescending.
The Wayspot Appeals section is primarily for the Wayfarer team to review appeals, not for extended debates. While community input can be helpful, it’s important to pause and consider whether it’s truly needed; especially if the OP isn’t blatantly wrong or violating guidelines. If someone takes a different (but valid) approach, asking a clarifying question out of curiosity is fine, but trying to “win” the conversation after that can derail the thread.
