With the recent challenge, I had a huge back log of edits get reviewed. Something like 350 items.
Unsurprisingly, there were a number of rejections, probably all of which I think I correct. Since I’m an Ingress-only player, I can’t easily resubmit, and so would like to appeal.
So, in response to the current state of flux, I would like to see a high rate of appeals. Either more in flight tokens, or a shorter cool-down time for the existing two tokens.
We still only get 2 appeals every 20 days with Wayfarer, and I don’t think staff will make any exceptions for a single user, as then they would have to do that for all users. It could also lead to some possible abuse issues.
Since you only play Ingress, you may want to try help chat on the Wayfarer website, or the report abuse link at the top of the forums. While that forum is typically for reporting any type of abuse, if you can provide proof that the edits should be changed, such as a website link or that the spelling/grammar is incorrect, the abuse forum will allow you to submit more than one at a time. Here’s the direct link:
Keep in mind that there’s no guarantees that staff will accept your recommended edits, but currently, this is the only option available to those that are Ingress-only players or for Wayspots not in PoGo.
Remember when they allowed us to appeal rejected edits to help chat for a while there? I do wish they would reinstate that. I already used a regular appeal on the only one of mine I actually cared about, but some people have lots.
Some of the NIANTIC employees I have been corresponding with are apparently negotiating with management to raise the number of appeals to four.
Hats off to the many low-quality judges who are not penalized for such an anomaly, judges who have such low standards, such as not accepting a building if it hasn’t existed for more than 100 years.
If you can’t see it in street view.
I was not asking for me, I was asking for the community.
I was using me as an example. I would not be surprised if I was the only user with a large backlog that was suddenly cleared and now suddenly has a bunch of contributions to appeal.
I do mainly edits myself, and did have some rejected during the last challenge. They weren’t major changes though, nothing to fuss about if I can’t get them updated right now. This is similar to how people are asking for a bump in nominations because Ingress has been disconnected, and we have no idea if any of the suggestions will be implemented.
@b00jl5yi7g I find it hard to believe that you are speaking to staff and they are telling you this. Staff most likely wouldn’t discuss something like this with regular users until it’s been officially announced, so you may want to be careful with what you are posting.
It is down to the submitter to show evidence that convinces the reviewers.
Why is the “less than 100 years old” building suitable, unique etc.
If it can’t be seen in streetview can supporting image be taken at an angle that shows something in the background that is viewable on streetview? Could you supply a link that shows that the item is in the area suggested.
Don’t shoot the messenger just because you don’t like the message.
I took the comment to be in regards to reviewers that have caused the poster to have to send his nominations to appeal in the first place. If I mis-interpreted this then I apologise.
