Hello everyone, and I’d like to ask a couple of questions since I recently moved from the city where I lived to a town with few stops and little game activity. First of all, my English level is pretty poor, and probably because of the translator, many things aren’t translated properly. Where I used to live, there were many religious items called tiles that have been accepted. Here in the town where I currently live, I’ve already requested several of those tiles, which are being rejected. A couple of streets in particular usually have tiles with the name of the saint or holy. Furthermore, festivals are usually held there when their day falls, and a tribute is paid to them. This belongs to our tradition and culture. I have several questions. Since there’s been a change on Niantic’s part, what new things are now valid for requesting PokeStops and which ones aren’t? From what I’ve seen here on the forum and from asking friends, people are being banned just for requesting new stops that were previously valid. What we have most in Spain is religious tradition, which seems to no longer be valid. The reason is to avoid being banned for insisting on things that were previously accepted. It seems that history is no longer valid. Here, the important thing is to comply with the rules. But if you try to achieve the best for the town or city and see that everything is going backwards, then you lose the desire to achieve things to improve the game.
First of all, anything that has changed recently, because I’d like to know about it and, above all, comply with the rules. Also, when I’ve reviewed things to accept from others, I always check to make sure they meet the criteria that have always been in place. Thank you first and foremost, and I always apologize if I’ve been disrespectful due to a bad comment. When I know an answer, I’ll get a translator. Knowing what my response was is a bad thing for people who have a poor level of English and only speak their own language.
You can type in any language you prefer. I am going to tag @MegaTrainerRed for you, who is an ambassador from Spain. But there are many others who will understand the region. There are many people on here who are fluent in Spanish, but I am not one of them.
This nomination has been rejected for being on Single Family Private Residential Property (SFPRP). A clarification has been made that any part of this kind of location is ineligible, even on the wall facing the street.
Religious items which are not on SFPRP are still eligible, if the location is eligible.
If you can find one of these on the outside of a shop, office, business, apartment block or any building that isn’t a single-family private residential property (i.e. a house) then they could make good submissions. So keep looking
You must understand how community review works. Even some of my submission that i thought to be surely approved can be rejected. Sometimes the community doesnt feel its distinct enough or they think its generic. I have some submission that got rejected by community/AI but approved when i appeal. But the other way also possible, because appeal team might not come from the same country like you , they may not know certain local knowledge inside your submission. In some submission , i am more convinced to do community route compared to appeal route.
Well, from what I see, this regulation was recently changed.
Here’s an example from one of the nearby towns, where the POI is a single-family home and the building is approved.
This makes it very difficult to request religious tiles, since many of them are displaced from the window and almost always at the end of the facade.
In addition, many of them are saints with the same street name. These aren’t placed by the neighbors, but rather chosen at random, especially in the middle of a street, and are usually the epicenter of festivities.
This will require a re-examination of the regulations, since I haven’t requested anything for a couple of years, and the fact that POIs in private residences, with soccer fields, playgrounds, etc., are approved makes you wonder what’s private and what isn’t.
For example, in these photos, this playground is on private property, and I can’t access that playground area if I were with children. Although with the game, you get there by the ratio.
First of all, I apologize for any actions or actions taken, as these are never done in bad faith and we always seek the best interests of the game. Above all, in sparsely populated areas, we encourage everyone to play.
Thank you.
P.S. There may be some poorly translated expressions since the Spanish to English translator was used.
Hi,
You shouldn’t rely on existing wayspots to supporting new ones. The picture you gave looks like a private house, that submission should have been rejected. It might still be deleted if someone spots it.
As for the play area, that’s part of an apartment block and in a communal area - so not an SFPRP (single family private residential property).
Just want to add to the above that absolutely no rules related to single-family private residential property have been recently (or not recently, for that matter) changed - it is a hard rejection criterion. If you see approved wayspots in this situation, it just means that they are at very strong risk of removal anytime.
Well, with all that, you’ve made it very clear to me.
So, more than half of the stops can be eliminated, especially in Spanish towns, when many of them were accepted when Ingress started, and not with Pokémon Go.
The problem with towns is that 60% of them are single-family homes. In a big city, it’s different.
This makes it difficult to play and create new stops for the game. Because religious tiles are almost always in single-family homes, and always on corners.
It’s truly a big problem because it negatively affects the player, and if the spawn is already reduced, you won’t even get to play for half an hour.
Would there be any possibility that only religious tiles would be accepted within the rules, as long as they are single-family homes? That’s the only modification we’re requesting.
If this has to be eliminated, I estimate it will represent a very high percentage of stops throughout Spain.
Thank you.
I can’t see an exception for religious tiles on SFPRP being possible.
I just picked two random villages/towns in Spain and didn’t see a single portal for a religious tile. I’m not convinced that removing these from SFPRP would wipe out the gameboard in Spain.
I would need an exception for sculptures on SFPRP, and another country or town would like an exception for interesting architecture on SFPRP, and another location would like an exception for postboxes…
I’m sure you can see why this isn’t possible.
I’m sorry the feedback you are getting isn’t what you would like to hear, but it’s best to approach this system with the right expectations.
It’s perfectly understandable, and it’s painful to see that this type of religious tile can’t be ordered, and I hope the ones that are currently there can be preserved because they’re old.
Above all, thank you for your attention. Above all, please be respectful and accept the rules, even if it’s a bit unfair. Besides, these are areas that Google hasn’t visited in years.
It’s time to study and see what might be valid, and if you have any doubts before ordering, ask to avoid problems.
Thank you.
I think you also need to expand your “vision” to see more than just religious wayspots. There are plenty of eligible things in Spain that have nothing to do with religion (but also lots of religious things that are in eligible locations).
Well, to close the topic, I’d like to ask one more question, since I’m seeing that on Google Maps, many areas have been outdated for several years. And as I’ve seen, Street View no longer exists. So, how do I show the community the new points and see if they’re potential candidates?
What I’m doing is marking the areas and saving the photos so I can better compare them on the computer. And while I’m at it, I’m looking to see if there’s an app so I can help improve the community.
Also, something I need to improve is my way of expressing myself, in addition to learning English well and not using the translator so much.
Thank you.
Hello! Sorry for the delay!
@cyndiepooh I didn’t get your tag
Hello @salixsorbus, related with your comment:
Not all villages/towns in Spain have the tradition of showing these tiles on the facade of SFPRP, this is extremelly more common in the south and east of Spain while is not quite common in the west, center and north. I just wanted to give a little cultural information of my country ^^
