This plate is to remember 2 guys that were killed by communist terrorists (odio comunista = communist hate) in the 70s in Italy (during so called “anni di piombo”, when there have been countless victims from both sides), and another one during a protest had been killed by a bullet shot from police (hence why “servi dello stato” means "serving the state).
I cant read it so i wont comment much. You can appeal rejection in contribution page. Personally my submission also have some share of rejection. Sometime machine learning program reject it, other time local community reject it. I will just resubmit with different picture or appeal
First of all unless you got an email specifically about this, it is not a formal warning.
It appears to be simply a rejection reason. They have been changing the way some of the text appears for the submitter as result of what the reviewer selects.
In order to try and help further we could with seeing the full nomination photos, text and location.
Can you conifrm if the rejection was warded as the “community” or from “our team” decided.
Anyway i think thats the new rejection clause. It might be buggy now. Some of the wording really off. But the rejection is there. You can wait a few days until more people see here before deciding to resubmit or appeal
You can appeal in the email thats given to you. It seems to be 1st warning on abuse ladder. Ifyou have more information on that plague, i suggest you do so. Online website if possible.
Using street view for the supporting is a red flag that you may have not actually been there to take a photo. A quick Google lens search brought up what appears to be the photo you used for the main:
Sometimes people use art to convey bigotry or hatred. This could be something like a caricature that equates a person or group to rats or vermin or something.
Niantic claims there was a report that led to an investigation. If your nomination went into voting, is there anything in the supplementary photo that might lead to a report?
I don’t know anything about the Roman street art scene, so I’m just spitballing, here, and do not mean to cause offense with my question.
ETA: Nevermind, Cindy got this one. The image was probably flagged for third-party artwork, and Niantic has been changing the way they decode our rejections into feedback for the originator.
Third-party primary photo was certainly a valid reason to reject this nomination.
That’s not the case here; they used 3rd party photos for both main and supporting photos. Cyndie found the main image doing a Google Lens search on another website. I kind of suspected this to be the case after seeing the Street View supporting photo.
@Romasimona 3rd party photos are not allowed for main photos. You do have to use your own photos that you take and have not been posted anywhere else. This is listed in the Photo Guidelines as a rejection reason for photos, and this can also be seen as abuse.
Taking someone else’s photo and using it to submit a Wayspot can be seen as malicious, abusive, which is the main point here. It can be seen as stealing someone else’s work, using it without permission. Malice is harm, ans using without permission could be seen as harmful.
We have read it, and we have interpreted it based on the guidelines: Please read my last post, as I describe how using another’s photo can be malicious, could be harmful to the other person who’s photo your using without permission.
I did read your first post. I see “Malicious Image Submission” - we have other reports that this means “Third Party Photos”
Maybe there is a translation issue, but this is most likely about the third party photo. Do you acknowledge that you used a photo you got from somewhere else? If you took this photo, you should present evidence that it was taken with your camera.
