Help me understand

Hello, it is my first time posting here. I am from Sweden so my English is ok, but sometimes it will be hard to explain. Don’t know if I’ve posted it in the right way/forum, but here is for trying
I’ve named the nomination: The brick wall bus station in Mellringe
I’ve tried 2 times now, but my stop has been automatically rejected.
It might be that I just got it wrong, but I want to hear your arguments for why that is.
In it self it looks like a brick wall in a cool S shape, but I find its shape special and interesting which is the reasoning for me to apply for it. It is on public ground at a bus station (exploration criteria). Gives life to the otherwise boring bus station. Possible to walk there.
Is my reasoning wrong? Why? Thanks in advance.

welcome to the forum, and let’s see if we can help!

can you post screenshots from your contributions page showing the rejection reasons?

i don’t understand what criteria you are submitting this under.

The AI doesn’t like lots of bricks, so that might be part of the reason.

Although this looks interesting, so far you don’t seem to have come up with a convincing argument as to why this is worth players exploring to find. Does it have a story or some special significance? Is there a news article about it? If it does, then include it in the description and supporting text. Else, I’m afraid it’s just an interesting wall.

This submission was rejected by Niantic’s automated process as it does not meet the criteria of Wayfarer. I submitted it under art I think.

I understand, thanks for the tip! Yea, it is an interesting brick wall, but you might be right and just accept that it might not have an enough interesting history behind it.

Location category might (not really sure) guide the AI to understand the picture, but that shouldn’t be the reason for it.
“Art” could be replaced with “Iconic Architecture” next time, if you renominate it

Ja, kanske skall se om jag kan hitta mer om det specifikt för att göra den ännu mer intressant.

Namn på pokestopsnomineringen Snidade Tegelbrukshållsplatsen i Mellringe

Beskrivning

My 1st nomination was a stone bus shelter.

Most shelters in the area are the modern metal / plastic / glass types, there are still a few Brick built ones left but stone ones have either been demolished or converted.

It is also older than me so we can definately state it is old…

Reviewers see it as just a bus shelter and rejected as “Not Distinct”.

Sometimes you just have to move on…

1st to admit it would have made it the closest stop to my home address could have been 1 of the reasons to nominate :innocent:

Thank you all for your comments, it is great to see your opinions and to see that I might not be way off - even though the stop has been rejected. Sometimes I don’t understand why some of my stops are rejected (to be fair, many of my stops actually goes through) and there is a sense of need to understand the rulebook and be able to learn to be able to make better nominations and stops.

When I asked what criteria you submitted it under, i didn’t mean category. I mean Wayfarer Criteria:

Must meet at least one of the three eligibility criteria

  • A great place for exploration
  • A great place for exercise
  • A great place to be social with others

Do you have any links that prove that this is an important or unique architectural design?

I don’t think I would submit or accept this from what I have seen so far, but I don’t have the local context. If you do feel it meets one of those criteria listed above, then you can appeal the rejection to the human team at Niantic, even though it was rejected by the automated process. You have two appeals, each on a 20 day counter before you can use it again.

Or, if you do try a new submission of this, don’t use the same photo that the automated process is rejecting. You might have better luck stepping back a bit to show the whole thing. Don’t use this snip from Street View, but something like

Ah, sorry I missunderstood you! I’ve tried to make my case that it is connected to criteria “A great place for exploration”. Ill see what Ill do, if Ill apply or try again or leave it be, but your points are valid.
In the case of a bus station with unique design I think it is the only one in Örebro where I live. But it might not be that significant, I’ve tried to google to see if there are anything mentioned about it but cannot find it. So yea, it is not by a know artist or anything like that. But thanks for your thoughts, they give better clarity to what to do and how to reason

I would still try to find more information about this structure.
It’s clearly looking like a Crinkle Crankle Wall. And the bricks is of the same type like the buildings from the older areas. So the project I found earlier, kis also mentioning just that they want to make ca room for the transportations and also having a link to the old architecture. And as @cyndiepooh showcased, a new picture with a greater view of the shape would be good.

Please share before a re-submit and see if we can give you further advises

Oh that’s interesting, although I’m not sure how well that translates to Swedish. In German it’s a “serpentine wall”.

It explains the structure as well, the wall is much stronger for being in an S-shape, so it can’t be “accidentally” knocked down so easily.

The picture is so important. The one you posted I would reject if I was reviewing; the one @cyndiepooh posted (obviously you have to take your own, not use streetview) I would accept if no problems elsewhere.
