Help with constant rejected from AI

I think choosing to reject it so immediately is frankly short-sighted. Not much else I can really continue on for that subject.

I’m also not attempting to put a stop over my own home as you are giving in an example, so I can’t see how that relates to this entry.

I’d like to honestly ask that if signs don’t make eligible spots, then why do they make up a vastly significant portion of Pokéstops? About two-thirds or more of the entry sign for every apartment complex, neighborhood, or business center in this area are wayspots. Most of these are not what I’d call exceptional art pieces, but they at least are decorated with greenery most of the time.

Thanks, all of my photos did have a large portion of grass in them so I’m wondering if that’s the key. I’ll try to improve that aspect and see what results I get.

First of all, any existing wayspot doesnt set precedent. Some of it might be falsely accepted in the past. Wayfarer AI have record where it auto accepting ineligible nomination.
Secondly some entry sign are more artistic then other. Each wayspot should be judge by its own merit.

If you believe your nomination are great place to explore/socialize/exercise, you are free to submit them. But dont push it. Nomination will be reviewed by your local community. If its rejected by community, you can appeal. If its still rejected, move on. Its just mean people doesnt believe its good candidate for wayspot.
But in your case its best to at least get it pass AI so human reviewer can check it. Changing photo and/or description might help.

Just warning , repeatedly spamming ineligible and low quality nomination might be subject to abuse ladder system. Getting review circle to help approve your nomination also subject to abuse ladder system.

I take business signs as an anchor for the business where you can’t get a decent image, example would be where a eligible business entrance is down a narrow passage but they have a nice large sign at the front. The nomination is still the business, the sign is just for the photo.

The exception is where the business sign is classed as artistic.

In your case I don’t see the business as eligible in regards to criteria. Neither do I see the sign as anything artistic any more than the majority of business signs.

Is there anything more specific to nominate. I know some similar companies that would have an item that the developed in the 50s now used as a monument?

Good luck.

I think that makes sense the way you put it, and I’d agree. This business unfortunately doesn’t display anything like that out front, but I have seen what you’re talking about for other locations.

Yes, and apologies for sounding frustrated there. My basis is mostly on what I’m seeing accepted as stops within the past few weeks as I try to document their locations on a map to see if any sparse areas might hold some points of interest and are worth visiting. A friend of mine lives in a large community development in this area, and he has had rapid acceptances of simple, plain community info boards go through AI and public review. That’s mostly what seems confusing for me to comprehend.

Thank you as well for the tip on too many rejected nominations. That’s honestly scary considering I’m not trying to be malicious with these submissions, and I almost am afraid to continue with the luck I’m having. Not sure how to move forward on that one.

Put your self in reviewer shoes. If you yourself see that nomination, would you approve it? Is it a great place to explore/exercise/socialize? If you yourself wont approve it, i wont bother submit it

Someone ask me earlier. He said he got many rejection. When i ask, he said he submit water tank and smoke chimney. I said to him, if i see his nomination, i would also reject his nomination

I do keep that in mind for my submissions, and that’s good advice. I fear though that since I do think they’re worthy of approval, just by referring to the acceptance and rejection criteria Wayfarer provides and attempting to try and understand what the nominator provides as their reasoning. I’ve definitely voted no on many submissions that seemed otherwise or just didn’t look like any effort was put into them.

Thanks by the way for your perspectives with my issue. I noticed your name pop up in a few other threads as well when I was going through what different issues people are encountering to try and get a better handle on all of this. You’ve helped a decent bit, which is great.

Hello,
It sounds like you are having a bumpy ride on the wayfarer road at the moment.
But I think you have developed some good knowledge in this exchange which is will benefit in the long term.
Your approach of going around the area is sound. It just needs to be refined a little, and I think you are now better equipped to do that.
If you ever have any doubts and want unbiased eyes to look at a potential nomination you are welcome to post a draft version here and we will be happy to offer suggestions. That way you can build confidence over what you are submitting.

Hey, thanks for reaching out! Apologies on how frustrated I must seem, and I will definitely try to post some draft versions here to hopefully build a better instinct for this. That’s great advice.

It is a significant change in viewpoint to go from “a Pokestop here would be great” to “this would be a great Wayspot.” You will have so much more success if you are keeping the criteria in mind: a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social. It is a radical change, but a really fun one!

You also have to remember that the criteria doesn’t always make perfect sense in the real world. I have had many moments of “that would be a great waypoint but it’s blocked by a certain criteria, but if it was moved one building along it would be ok”. You just have to move on to something else.

Plus, take another look around the areas you are at the most (home estate), people (me) seem to miss obvious waypoints just because you see them so often you don’t even think about them. A local estate that was built when I was a kid had the play areas dotted around (swings in 1 area, climbing frame in a different part of the estate), they have all been removed and now a single play area (already a stop) created, thought that’s a pity missing on multiple waypoints and for months I totally ignored the Post Office and another play area on the same road…
