Auto Reject again

Maybe I don’t understand English but from my understanding I thought your favorite coffee shop was an acceptable waypoint.

To top it off email reply says to appeal with the niantic team “here” yet there’s no appeal tab…

If the community can help that would be great.

Also I’m confused cause I thought a place to socialize was the purpose of the waypoint yet image 1 & 2 (“food is our common ground”) were rejected by the COMMUNITY!

Thank you guys!

Hello,

For the 1st set of photos, a generic poster from the university doesn’t make for a great main photo. From the photos, this appears to be at a branch of Chamberlain University, based off of the logos on both the poster and the flyers on the table. If you are using the poster to be a place marker for the dining area, reviewers most likely are thinking you are trying to get this approved, not the actual dining area, which should be in the main photo, not the poster. Here’s the link to the university, if anyone is wondering what the logo looks like.

For the 2nd, this is a vending machine, not a coffee shop. A coffee shop would usually have a place to sit and socialize with others, such as tables, chairs, and other furniture, which makes it a great place to be social. A coffee vending machine, even if it seems unique, is something that has been around for decades, so it’s nothing new, and may or may not be near a seating area. I remember the ones we had at my university, and they were just in the hallways near classrooms, never by any seating areas; we also had actual coffee shops on campus, serving Starbucks coffee.

And you are not required to use English here in the forums, as we do have a translator. Most here do use English, but any language can be used.

:rofl::joy::rofl:
The English statement was just a sarcastic joke cause the language is always auto-translated. I figured that the chairs and table there on the side would indicate that there were seating areas around. I figured that since this was a Mechanical Barista it would be viable. A “different” way of getting your coffee…

It really isn’t much different than older coffee vending machines, other than the fact that those usually didn’t grind the beans or offer a variety of different options. It’s still just a vending machine, a place to get some food and then move along.

It’s not a place to actually socialize, and there are most likely other Brew Botz vending machines in other places. In fact, this medical facility seems to have a few, based off of the locations link on the website for the vending machine:

Yeah they are unique To Banner. That’s what pushed me to submit it as a unique coffee spot along with the chairs placed to the right of the machine. I just have to explore the hospital to find interest in artifacts in Muriel‘s to turn into a way spot

Hello and welcome,
It’s not easy to tell which area of the forum to post a question in but this is a very specific area for admin help with some matters.
I am moving this to Nomination Support so you can get support to improve your submissions and hopefully be successful.

What about this huge walls of plaques?

And go find this outside

I don’t like submitting chapels, but there’s an art alcove outside the chapel.

It’s hard for me to tell where this is. If this is the emergency room entrance, ignore this. But if its just the entrance to the main hospital, it should be fine. It looks like that is a large art piece made to look like a tree.

Already recommended these areas in another thread they started.

and?

Does it hurt to share what’s been going on?

This (The Garden of Graditude) was there before I started. Fortunately i’ve had a few become stops (the vase, coffee shop downstairs, but because some of the writings can be mis directional) however the viable ones are also being rejected. For example, a swimming pool for therapy was rejected. The gazebo which is outside and not near an emergency area was rejected. Prior to submitting the locations I ensure to find reason as to why is viable. Take the brewrobotz as an example, right next to the brewbotz machine are chairs and the location is in the front entrance, but I guess it was rejected for not being unique enough. So kind of just makes it hard to know what will go through and what won’t. Sometimes I think it just might be my description or categories. Mural was rejected for stating admitting yet the admissions/emergency room is on the opposite side.

Front non emergency entrance

Ok, that’s not a mural. You need to name things accurately. If that got to human reviewers, they may not accept it because they think you’re trying to trick the system. Murals are typically easy to accept, so people will use that word when it doesn’t apply. This is an art piece.

In order for this to pass, you need to explain why it’s special. Who is the artist? What meaning does it have to the hospital? Is there a plaque nearby to list the title of the work? How was this piece chosen to be hung here?

Also, categories don’t have any bearing on whether something is accepted. For years, we were able to nominate through Ingress and that game didn’t allow us to pick a category at all.

A swimming pool for therapy doesn’t really meet any Wayfarer criteria. Pools meet criteria when they are open to people for socializing and exercising. Receiving therapy is neither of those things. We have a huge therapy pool at my hospital that i would never submit because it isn’t appropriate.

We also have a huge gym that is used for therapy. That’s a little more open to criteria because we host events there, like lunches for the whole staff or fundraising events. But just above the gym is a walking track where one whole wall was recently painted with a mural. I submitted that mural, so i don’t need to bother with trying to nominate the gym or walking track.

As for your other rejections, we need to see your submissions in whole to understand what could be the problem. Sometimes people use words associated witht the game that makes the nomination ineligible. Or they didnt frame the photo well enough for ML to understand what it is. Post screen shots here of title, description, main photo, supplemental information, and supplemental photo so we can help you break it down. Start with that outdoor gazebo so we can figure that one out.

wow that is a lot at once. idk where the current passion for submitting neighborhood signs comes from. maybe ML was accepting them before it was turned off? i agree on the “Thunderbird Paseo Condominums” being nothing that meets criteria as a great place to exercise, explore, or be social.

“West Hut” shows the rejection reason when “generic business” is selected. if you submit this again, you need to take a photo that isn’t blurry, and really explain and prove that this restaurant is significant to the community, and not just a place you can eat.

“Deer Valley Office Park Rest Area” is another gray area. The private property rejection here is incorrect, but you really need to show that this is a designated place to be social, and not just a place you can eat food.

“Banner Family Gift Shop” was rejected by the ML model. We don’t know exactly how that works, but I think it did not detect anything eligible in that photo. This is most likely another generic business that was correctly rejected. A campus gift shop might be eligible, though, but would be a difficult nomination. If you do try it again, try a main photo of the sign for the place, if there is one.

“BRMC Gazebo” is way too dark. It would be difficult to recognize the Wayspot from this photo. And that does not look like a gazebo. I am not sure what BTMC is to offer more advice on resubmitting this one. When I use an abbreviation in the title, I spell it out in the description.

I hope this helps. We really want people to become successful from interacting here on the forum!

I agree with Cyndie. But I’ll add a few comments from my experience.

  • BRMC Gazebo. Again, you’re using the wrong words to describe things. That’s not a gazebo. It is a Courtyard or Break Area. I think it’s a decent nomination but I agree that the image needs to be taken in better light. I think it might be better if you step a little closer to take the photo as well. Your text on this one is fine.

  • Gift Shop. I don’t see how hospital gift shops meet any criteria. They are not a place people go to socialize, exercise, or explore. You buy something and leave.

  • Office Park Rest Area. I like these. I would get a little closer to show the tables without the bollards. But I think your main issue is not convincing people that these are great places to meet. I have done some research on the advantages to having outdoor break areas for office workers. There’s a lot of information out there about having a place to get away from the computer and interact with coworkers reduces stress and fosters human connection. A quick Google search will send you to places that will give you the logic you need to explain why these are eligible and beneficial - something like: Create Beneficial Outdoor Spaces For Your Employees.

  • West Hut. The photo is bad. But you also need more information about why this is unique and special to the community. How common are West African restaurants in your area? Does this one have a large customer base of people from West Africa? Do they have a special recipe that can only be found here or has been voted the best in the area?

  • Neighborhood sign. Yeah, Cyndie and I are in perfect agreement with these. I don’t think they meet any criteria to be eligible for Wayfarer.

Insightful as always, you guys are. Thank you for all the input and yes, I do agree. I put generic descriptions because once I heard over convoluted descriptions were bad. But I will change my approach with each picture and nomination I submit.

So to show my “great” work, here’s an example: on the campus of my school, there is a field area with tables and chairs with natural shade for students outside that I had submitted previously was rejected. Now I would say, I could not figure out what to title it so I gave it some dumb title And perhaps terrible description. So if you see the image you notice that this area is literally designed for students to come sit outside and enjoy fresh air and relax and socialize.

As far as the West African Hut goes my wife went inside to pick up her food so I was kind of in a rush. It is the only West African/Ghanaian restaurant in Phoenix. There’s actually hardly any African restaurants. Here in Phoenix it’s more Hispanic based restaurant so to have this location as a wayspot is unique and the area is filled with other shops and restaurants as well as it does bring in traffic. It’s a great chance to explore something new in food outside our normal culture.

BRMC was a typo which was supposed to state BTMC: Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.

Previously in one of these post someone had recommended the gift shop as a place.

I am confused about the name place sign though since I’ve seen plenty previously… but I’ll have to reconsider.

I work 6pm to 6am so my chance of great photo shots are meh at best. By 6 am my body is rushing me home unless if I’m Lallygagging around the hospital.

Since I became level 37. I have been nominating numerous locations at the hospital. It seems all the long term players were too scared to do anything. Now they’re all pushing me to “yeah try that and that one”.

Some of my submissions have gone through and some failed epically. But I’m not giving up. As Naruto would say “Never give up that’s my way of the ninja datebayo”
