How would you argue this is a GREAT place to explore, socialise or exercise? I’m struggling to see how it will fit one of those 3 criteria - but if you can prove it does, you can resubmit (but include that in supplemental info).
To me, this is just a company logo. It doesn’t merit exploration, which is the only possible one out of explore/social/exercise.
Also, always make sure the POI is in the supporting photo. Niantic don’t mandate this, but it is extremely risky not to do this and very often a sign of an abusive submission, so it’s a red flag to reviewers. The supporting photo is supposed to help reviewers see where the POI is and the context - if they can’t see it, this fails.
so no one really knows why the rejection? the “hospital location” doesn’t fly at all since there is a waterwall stop 65 feet away inside the hospital.
I’ve never had a POI in the surrounding area ever, but I can make it happen. how big is it? about 3 X 2 feet hanging on a wall. it’s interesting that it is still there considering the community hospital recently changed it’s name to “powers health”. “How would you argue this is a GREAT place to explore, socialise or exercise?”
I would NOT argue. but there are chairs in front of it and people sit there AND SOCIALIZE all day but when I included the chiars in the previous submission I was told to take the chairs out as it’s clutter. it could be considered a waiting area for visitors.
Three people have said it is likely it was rejected because it is not significant. A further three people have made positive likes on those posts. Everyone who has responded has said, directly or indirectly, that this company logo is not significant.
When I read through this I can see that fellow wayfinders are trying to help.
It appears to be that a key issue is that the answers given are not ones that simply agree with your view.
There are many instances in Wayfarer where views and opinions vary a little. When someone posts asking about a specific wayspot that person needs to be open to the possibility that although they may firmly believe their submission to be eligible and acceptable others may disagree.
It’s a hard response to take in as you believe in the submission, but perhaps it’s time to accept those views in this instance and find another point of interest to put your energy into ?
The reason it’s so important to include the POI in the supporting photo in some cases is to help reviewers know that the POI actually exists in the given location. It’s a common mistake to not include it, so you would certainly have company there. With indoor nominations, it’s very helpful to get enough context to show that the nomination exists in that specific building, so maybe showing a business name or something like that. In restaurants, I’ll hold up a menu with the nomination in the background, so they have good reason to believe that the POI is in that restaurant.
Obviously if something is easily visible on street view or satellite, the supporting might be used to verify some other aspect than location. But it can still be a red flag when it doesn’t. A lot of AI nominations will just have an unrelated second photo, because they only doctored one photo. To be clear, I don’t think that’s happening here, but I’m trying to provide more context on why that supporting photo can be so important.
As others have said, with the information provided, I do not find this to meet criteria, and I would recommend looking for other candidates.
I know you are working to understand the rejection and improve your nomination. I don’t think @lizzybdarcy is being rough on you. They are giving you some really useful information and ways to improve this and future nominations.
Nominations can vary in how likely they are to get approved. The waterfall art was an easier one for reviewers.
Keep asking questions and keep taking in suggestions - you at the start of your journey to add wayspots to the games
I’m not trying to be rough on you. I’m just trying to explain why you heard that advice, so that you understand where it’s coming from and the function of it. It’s intended as helpful information, not criticism.
first, let me say that people my age find it hard to nominate stops in pogo. Many just give up. The process can be maddening, as the wayfinders can be rough on us, as evidenced here. It is NEVER CLEAR WHY rejections abound.
It seems very few have the patience, but many come with knives out.
having said that, I got a link from a helpful person to my own nomination page (which I’d never seen!) Amazingly I find it hard to get back there. I find the whole wayfarer site to be difficult to navigate.
I also tried & tried to get all the info onto one page from some instructions but have a REAL TOUGH TIME with it.
Also, it seems people are quick to criticize when there are reasons for my scepticism. As I’ve said before, there is a pokestop 65 ft (approx) away from this one which is also a waterwall. It does not have the crest (art?) in it. It was approved. this one was not. I KNOW this can be a pokestop, I just need to know HOW.
I want this to be a pokestop to make it easier for the people who visit and work there to play the game. Assist me in making it one.
There is a link at the top of the forum here for “Wayfarer” that will take you to the menu where you can click on “Contributions.” I should have pointed out the pathway instead of just giving you a direct link to https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/nominations.
We did try to give you advice on submitting the waterwall, and you did the opposite of what we had suggested. I am sorry I have failed you, but at least I pointed to you how to find your way back to the contributions page next time.
Would you like to elaborate? I am 63.
I don’t see anything like this. I see explanations of why this would have been rejected and suggestions for other things to look for.
If the waterwall is somewhere near the bagle shop I’d try to make a supporting photo which shows the waterwall AND the shop in context to eachother.
That could help to identify the location inside the building.
Now where you’ve the link to the Wayfarer page you could also try to submit through the new web-submission feature (in the same menue like your contributions but “submit”). That allows you to upload up to 5 supporting photos.
