I can’t understand why this nomination was rejected even in appeal saying they don’t see any cultural importance for the local community.
The nomination is a bar-restaurant, the ONLY one in our 300 inhabitants village, the only business in tje village and 10km nearby. It’s open daily, easily accessible and it is a perfect place to socialise, get to know the locals. I took the photos myself, the placement was correct so I don’t understand which criteria my nomination doesn’t meet.
If you want fellow wayfarers to advise on this, please post the details of the submission, as no-one but you can follow that link.
Title, description, supporting information, photo, supporting photo, **location (**this can be found in the submission receipt email below the photos and looks like 12.34567,27.65432)
Until we see screenshots of your nomination we can only speculate. Do post the screenshots of your nomination as others suggested.
As a speculation I can make now. Cafe’s or restaurants are pretty hard to get through the system even if the nomination is almost perfect. If you share a link in the supporting info about your requested Cafe, it might help convince reviewers. But still then it is pretty hard.
We can’t see this, nor should we be able to see your pending nominations. This takes everyone to their own account. You have to take screenshots of the complete nominations. This is unfortunately the only way to share them.
Here are the screenshots. The description is in french since it’s in a small french village.
Nearby we have pokestops that are commercial bill bards and random road signs. How can those be considered more culturally important for a local community than the only subsisting bar?
Hi! The original rejection reason was “lack of originality or no interest for local community”. In tbe appeal I have explained that it’s the only bar we have in our place and it’s the only place where locals can meet and socialise. The appeal rejection reason they gave “We are unable to verify as per the nomination context how this business is a locally significant to your community. We suggest that you add more information explaining why this business is important for the local community in a new nomination. This can greatly increase the odds of this nomination getting approved”
I suggest you do this. The onus is on submitter to present enough evidence to reviewer.Just word is not enough. You can add link to supporting information. 1 link can be worth more than 1000 words
The speculation from @AMG7070 was pretty accurate. Although the wording on the sign says Bar/Restaurant, the google maps pin is for a Restaurant. As a restaurant, you have to make a strong case as suggested by @TjoeMi.
Unfortunately, being the only restaurant in a village (which this does appear to be) doesn’t change this problem much.
(One reason I suggested posting the text, not the images, is that it this forum has an auto-translate button when a posting is entirely in a different language to your own, plus it is easier to copy-paste into google translate. Fortunately, enough people read French )
Regarding the commercial bill boards and random road signs, if you want to post the details, people could comment on whether they appear to have something that makes them more than just infrastructure.
I can’t see your title, but stressing “bar” over “restaurant” might help. Restaurants often fail nomination, but bars are primarily a place to socialise. The main photo is a little uninspiring, I like the supporting photo better.
I did take the liberty of looking around the village in Lightship. It’s a very pretty village, and very tidy - it looks like the community take great pride in it.
These are the wayspots I can see in Lightship (they may be out of date):
Pompe à Eau
Les vaches de Langey
Église De Langey
Mairie de Langey
Parc des jeux
They may not all show in Pokemon Go. One of the problems I see is that all the points of interest are clustered in the centre of the village, so adding new ones may not yield more Pokestops but they will appear in other Niantic/Scopely games.
Next to the cows are three other potential wayspots, a map of the village and a village sign that looks in poor condition in StreetView. There’s also what appears to be a war memorial. I would suggest submitting these in any case, because they’ll appear in other games if not PoGo.
East of the church is a bus shelter, it looks like it may have a community noticeboard in the back. If it does, then that could be a good nomination. It may be too close to the Mairie to be a Pokestop though.
There’s only one wayspot for the playground, but I can see also a petanque court which could make a good nomination. I would suggest that “Parc des jeux” is mis-placed and the pin is on a small communal garden instead, that garden could make a good submission but moving the playground may cause unpredictable results given the close proximity of everything.
I do see several flower planters around the village, these might be acceptable but they are a more marginal submission as many reviewers will think that they’re not distinct. May be worth a try though.
