Horse trail markers

Are horse trail markers also good for nomination?

I can t find any information about it

If people are not allowed to walk the trail, then markers along the trail would not have safe pedestrian access. If hikers are allowed, then the trailmakers would be a great place of exercise imo. And if people are not allowed to walk the trail, the entrance to the horse trail could still be a great place for exploration.

There is a walking path next to it, the sand will be a heavy walk . And the markers are only ad crossing whit footpaths or bycyle paths so yes the have al safe pedestrian access.
Here you see also the pedestrian footbridge where you may walk but the horses also walk over

Here another good example :

Most of the horse trail go over normal pedestrian road and bycyle roads, and then little bit over those small.horse trails true out the park

Personally I think that a horse trail encourages exercise and exploring - horse riding is great exercise for the human as well as the horse and is a fantastic way to enjoy the countryside. I see it as little different from a cycling trail ie a person is travelling on the trail with non motorised assistance. There would be safe pedestrian access, as it would be common for people to walk with the horse at times, for example an adult leading a child’s horse or accompanying a less experienced rider. Walking on a horse trail isnt dangerous for pedestrians.

I think there are cultural differences around.
In the U.K. routes start of for pedestrians then they can have horses, bikes etc added.
We rarely have bike only places same with horses. We haven’t the space and need to share :sunglasses:
In other places they do have more of the exclusive for bikes or horses variety.

Here its the same, shared path and they are on great location. Anyway it can be fixed? Used upgrade and was almost instant rejected.

I would try an appeal, and failing that, a new and improved submission. This looks like a beautiful and interesting trail and I would happily vote for it!

If you’re trying again, I would try your main picture being mostly filled by the trail marker, to help the ML know what its looking at in case it tries to do the review, and then give a good description of the route in case it goes to reviewers.

I hope you can get it accepted. It sounds like what we would call a bridleway which is a walking trail that also can be used by horse riders and they’re really nice places to walk and explore

It seems like this philosophy should be fairly universal.

What would a bicyclist do if they had mechanical trouble while on the trail? Call for a helicopter?

For England* , Wales, Northern Ireland.

footpaths - for walking, running, mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs

bridleways - for walking, horse riding, bicycles, mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs

restricted byways - for any transport without a motor and mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs

byways open to all traffic - for any kind of transport, including cars (but they’re mainly used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders)

Cyclists have the right to use:

a carriageway
bridleways
cycle tracks
restricted byways
byways open to all traffic (BOATs)

Cyclists do not have the right to use public footpaths and it is an offence to cycle on pavements.

You can walk on nearly all land in Scotland, provided you behave responsibly, thanks to Scotland’s world-class access rights

Before the 2003 Act, access was freely taken in Scotland using something called ‘custom and tradition’.

These customary ‘rights’ still apply as long as you’re causing no damage and walking responsibly. On this basis, you may walk on land where statutory rights don’t apply without committing an offence.

This includes places such as farmyards or across dams. However, you should still heed any local advice, for example when farmers are carrying out hazardous operations in their farmyards

Scottish access rights include access to farmers’ fields, provided you are responsible

Rights also never extend to prepared surfaces like tennis courts or bowling greens, but you have the right to cross golf courses, avoiding the greens.

This is the most important bit. If you are walking over a golf course you should always make them wait as long as possible to take their shot just to annoy them.

Inner London and the City of London are not covered by the same laws as the rest of England.

Thats super interesting! And you made me laugh about the golfers

I trampled all over a golf course one night back in May because it had the best northerly view off the side of a hill and I wanted to see the aurora. I narrowly avoided being sprayed by the sprinklers several times, so I would say golf courses are mildly hazardous although not due to a lack of pedestrian access

Definitely tallies with what I thought - our laws are quite pedestrian/cycle friendly

In England though?

You’ll get chased away by men driving Jaguars.

I do think the rest of the world should ignore our opinion on public paths, rights of ways, cycle paths etc since we have such specific laws that are also dependent on your location in the UK.

Here you may walk everywhere. :walking_woman:

@elijustrying could you merge these posts so people can see it was almost immediately rejected after my original comment that I thought it would be a good nomination?

I think it still is! And i need to make a new picture more close up, so its easier for the ML to recognize. Somewhere this new week i will make new more close up picture s. And try it again

I used a upgrade and it was rejected a few minutes later.

Any ideas ? :bulb: thanks

Well so much for my opinion that a horse trail marker was a good nomination. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of what is accepted in your area can help. From what I translated, I would have accepted this.

I saw them few times while reviewing.
So i also nominated a few.

Now is the question ? Is this one going to be restored. Do i need to make it again more close up ? Or sall i delete the others ones? I have 0 nominations left, so no rush but a awnser would be nice yes

I have merged them together…so it does look a little odd. and then transferred it all to the nomination support area.

Once I stop going round in circles I might comment somewhere.
