I usually choose “low quality or inaccurate photo” when the picture is poorly centered, or is either too close or too far from the POI. I was wondering if there’s a better way to reject them
I think we need examples of what you are rejecting. if i can still tell what the photo is showing, i don’t reject it for not being perfect.
We can take this as an example (the original submission was well centered, I cropped it to illustrate what I’ve seen in other submissions). This is what I mean by poorly centered
I would not reject that for the photo.
Some photos I rejected (one is an edit)
main photo:
And a lot of other 3rd party photos
I am not trying to turn this into a make fun of the coal thread, but photos have to be this bad in order for me to reject them.
The object is still fully in the photo as the main focus, and the photo is bright, not blurry and orientated correctly. I would also not reject this.
You may have seen me stress taking a GREAT photo to people making nominations. This is not because Wayspot photos are required to be art. It is because it makes it easier for reviewers - especially the non-human one - to understand what you are submitting and potentially accept it.
As a reviewer, I set the bar much lower. Would I recognize the poi from the photo? Does it have anything that is disqualifying like faces, is it turned sideways or upside down, or is it third party? Those I will not accept.
Welcome to the community, and this is a great discussion question. Thanks for asking it!
Thanks! I’m still learning so this helps a lot
Hello @WhiskeyKM
Thanks for asking the question, and it’s great you have got an answer.
Just to add to this
here is the text from the Information point at the questions when reviewing edited just to have the parts about the photo
This helps decide if it warrants a or . And if you think it is somewhere between or you are unsure you can choose the I don’t know (IDK) option.
If you choose IDK or you then can choose from a tick box list about the photo and there is an “other” box if you wish to add something else.
I have also moved this to review support and slightly amended the title.
