How to change photos to meet guidelines

I submitted a new photo for a POI and it was denied. The original has a photo of the plaque with a human face. I submitted an updated photo with just the plaque and it was denied and said Niantic agrees the original can stay. Why have rules if they aren’t followed? I did bring this up at the Niantic stand at PoGo Gofest and they just laughed. The plaque itself is moved and in a new location now since they remodeled the park.

When you go to the help menu, a speech bubble will pop up. A bot will gather some information, and a human will get back to you.

When I have submitted photo removal requests, they have usually done them, but if that is the only photo on the Wayspot, they will want a new photo for it. Some people lose the Help Chat history and don’t see requests for more information, so I would go ahead and attach a new photo if that is the only one.

Edit: okay I see that this is the photo from Site of Hilltop Park Historical Marker so it was probably just imported, not approved through Wayfarer  and there are other photos on the Wayspot already in case they don’t want to add yours for some reason. But you could still attach it.

Niantic sent me an email stating the photo change request is denied. So two decent new photos without the face are not good while the one with the face is acceptable.

did you use help chat?

When you submit a photo, its not a request to “change” the photo, it is a request to “add” a photo. In order to get the photo removed you need to follow the directions explained to you.
