Photo removal/location edits for same Wayspot that get rejected

Just in case staff wants to take a look into this, this is in response to ticket #35312395 from help chat.

There’s a local church that has 3 photos of the church, and one that even has the name of the church above one of the entrances, that to me, all should stay. However, there’s one that’s just of the church entrance sign in the parking lot. not of the church itself. I decided to request removal of the sign photo, since there are 3 photos of the actual church. Here’s the screenshot from Ingress showing all 4:

I think the issue may be that the location for the church isn’t on the church, but on the sign. I thought it would be best to first have the sign photo removed, then request a location edit, as my previous location edits have been rejected, which is over 10 m. I don’t have any of the tickets where I requested location edits, but do remember doing it in the past.

Should I continue to request the location edit or the photo removal? Just trying to figure out how to process.

Bumping this, as haven’t gotten any replies yet.

Hi @DTrain2002
Thanks for bumping. After that I feel more invited, as a not niantic, to step in :hugs:

My personal view on that is:
With the currently given rules a POI on a sign eligible.
A sign could be the anchor for the object or representing itselves.
If a sign is accepted as a POI (on it’s own):

  • any move away from that object isn’t eligible
  • you won’t get it removed (doesn’t meet removal criteria)

If a sign is accepted as a POI (as an anchor):

  • any move away from that object isn’t eligible (because it is already on the correct anchor point)
  • you won’t get it removed (doesn’t meet removal criteria)

This case feels similar to that former one
location edit over 10m not beeing accepted by help chat please read
How did that ended?

Not really wanting to discuss that one further, but this helps. Thanks!
