I was on your side when I thought you were fighting bad Wayfarer practices, but now I think you are probably just trolling. I hope you had fun with this post.
Ah if only……but I was not suggesting pushing the tower over or anywhere else just the photo.
On one hand, it is unfortunate people are not submitting acceptable photos for these playgrounds in your area or photos that you think are “good”. But on the other hand, if you dont like the quality of the wayspots in your area, why not improve them? I had a lot of low quality or bad photos in my area and went around submitting new better ones to actually make a difference vs just complaining about the issue. Help chat is a great tool to use to get photos removed that dont meet the standards.
I was serious until someone started picking on completely insignificant details compared to the overall nomination picture.
Under what grounds? An invalid photo is not grouds to remove a waypoint.
The thing is that these nominations are not from my area. Kazakhstan is a very large country with a small population density. I receive nominations from 1000 km away.
Sorry, I missed important words in your comment while reading. But the meaning is the same. There are a huge number of people at such a world landmark. How is it even possible for something like this to become the main photo and no one to delete it?
Because historically there was wording in the help pages that allowed people in the photo if they were unavoidable. The photo example was the Eiffel Tower, full of tourists. In a playground theres ways to time your photo so that theres no one visible or at the very least not recognizeable. Im sure people can share their tips on how they achieve this if needed.
I can’t understand you. Do you think that demanding that people take photos with a good angle and with good orientation is “nitpicking”, but waiting and planning the photo when everyone has left is ok?
As someone already said, identifiable people in a photo is a rejection reason. And specially when children are involved, a safety risk.
The feeling that the nomination is not in keeping with the spirit of Wayfarer’s mission is also a reason for rejection, but in the opinion of most, I am “picking”.
But a playground is in the spirit of wayfarer.
It encourages exercise and socialisation
If we are talking about children’s safety, shouldn’t we introduce a rejection criterion for nominations of playgrounds in general, as with school and kindergarten areas, for example?
Your opinion on the spirit of wayfarer directly cotradicts the spirit of wayfarer.
Not quite right. In my opinion, the interpretation of the rules goes against the spirit of wayfarer. Previously, the rules were more one-sided. They were difficult to misinterpret, so they were easy to follow. Then they changed them and chaos began.
We return to the theme of park benches. Let’s put POI on each bench. They also encourage walks in the fresh air. There is a place in our park where benches are placed every meter. We need to put one POI on each one. And in general, any sidewalk encourages walking.
Interpretation.
Alright im done with this sealioning.
The Playgrounds in former Soviet countries has been a continuous point for years, as some may be locked and inaccessible to the General Public if they are in the middle of a courtyard in an apartment building where others may not belong. Niantic has not to my knowledge ever removed these. Yes they all seemingly look identical but they are appropriately being used as people have been asked.
That’s no different than a tennis court in a gated community. If you’ve seen one tennis court, you’ve seen them all. But they still make great places to exercise and socialize for the people who have access to them.
