Point of reviewer rating?

Whats the point of having a a high review rating? Its obvious that it can be used to detect if someone is a using the system if they troll around getting 1* rating, but what benefit per say does one with top 4* reviewer rating has on someone like me with just 3* reviewer rating? Just wondering really.
