How to request a large location edit?

Wondering what the best way is to request a significant distance location edit. I’ve only done one before and it was a much shorter distance, I’ve heard rumors of people getting in trouble for larger ones?

Anyway… this Wayspot is a piece of art in a Starbucks, but the pin is on the building on the opposite side of the parking lot (a Chevron gas station’s convenience store).

It’s not a cell issue (they’re in the same cell, just going from corner to center).

Wayspot name: “Where Coffee Grows Art”
Location: San Diego, CA, USA
Current coordinates: 32.836739,-117.152902
Correct coordinates: 32.836512,-117.152701

(determined and tested using the manual add feature on Wayfarer while I was actually there earlier today).

To note, this move also would make the autogenerated address shown in Wayfarer correct to what is on the Starbucks building (7750 Copley Park Place); currently it’s giving a dummy address on the crossing street (5230 Convoy Street; the Chevron is actually 7740 Copley Park Place).

To submit location edits over 10 metres, you use the wayfarer support chat. Login to the wayfarer website, go to the help page and then tap on the orange speech bubble icon in the corner to open a support ticket.

Also, the address is generated from Google Maps data as far as I’m aware. It’s not a requirement for this address to be accurate. All that matters is that the GPS coordinates are correct.

True about the address - I was thinking of that as more of an indicator of how correct this would be, than anything required.

People do not get in trouble for making location corrections.

Hello @CostcoShopper13

@cyndiepooh addressed this well above, but I wanted to add some additional context. In game moves are limited to 10 m. Because of this I have seen instances of people trying to incrementally move a wayspot that is farther than that. Without context this can be seen as abuse since they are also moving it to an inaccurate location.

So as said above, your best bet is to use Help Chat.

This was what I was kinda referring to - that 10 m limit. This one was more than that (I’d estimate about 25-30 m).

While yes, there’s the accuracy issue, I was having anxiety over whether they’d be able to tell, since this wayspot is a piece of indoor artwork (so not visible via streetview or satellite), it was just pinned on the wrong building. (And I very recently had a submission that was marked as duplicate when it in fact was not.)

I did the help chat before bed last night, went to check this morning and couldn’t find anything re: status, but then I looked on Wayfarer map and it was already done.
