My move request is always declined

I have requested a POI location correction several times and there is always a practically instant rejection without any justification, and I am really trying to put the POI in the correct place, since it was created in the wrong place.
What can be done to make the location correction accepted?

1st of all. Can you share the wayspot here so we can analyze?

Hello and welcome,

Yes, I’m curious as to where this Wayspot is currently, and where you are trying to move it to. It’s possible that additional evidence may be needed to move it, or you may have to go a different route to request an edit than in-game.

Hi @marciow
Welcome to the forum :hugs:
The correct way for location edits >10m is to use helpchat (wayfarer menue → help → orange bubble).
Good luck :four_leaf_clover:

They haven’t said how far this edit is, which is why we asked.

Yes, everything asked and said was correct. My answer is to see additional. If they recognize that the distance may cause the problem they can choose to do the necessary anonymously.
Team work @DTrain2002 :hugs:

It may be that they can appeal via Contribution Management though, which is why I didn’t give a “how.”

Fair point! Offering more infos and possible ways is always good

We don’t know the secret sauce recipe for voting, but it would be logical to assume that to move a wayspot the new location needs considerably more votes than the old location - otherwise any new location requests would have a 50/50 chance of getting accepted.

I particularly like using this method because I can explain why the move is correct and give evidence ie photos.

I also dont risk repercussions for submitting any moves that are later deemed “dodgy” for whatever reason, since I can offer evidence that Im improving accuracy and the help chat team can then decide if that’s a good reason to do the move or not.

Oh and since we are discussing different ways to do a location edit, if you would rather have an email trail, the form linked at the top of the forum under “Wayspot Removals” can be used for modifications too:

I prefer help chat, but some people lose help chat history and don’t like it.

On the first image, we have the Wayspot.
On the second image, the more accurate place it is marked with a green “X”, where it really should be placed.
I am the person who asked to create it and accidentally is not on the correct place, and I am so sorry to make this mistake.

Thanks for providing more info. I’m having trouble locating Quadra Esportiva VBNU from the info provided, Quadra Esportiva seems to be a common name in some areas. Could you please provide a street address or coordinates? Could you also provide coordinates for where you are trying to move it to?

I found….

Ingress
Intel
Google Maps

@marciow You can also find this info in Contribution Management, just for future reference. Here’s a rejected location edit of mine (not in an inaccurate location, but I feel it should be at the entrance instead of the northeast corner of the building):

Looking at this area on Google Maps and Street View, this is going to be one where extra evidence will be needed. I can’t even tell where exactly this is located, as the condo complex is quite tall, and if it’s between buildings, those are obscuring the view.

If anyone else wants to take a look, feel free. I’m thinking it may be around -23.66842993091986, -46.704713392712456, which is on the roof of one of the shorter parts of the complex. That also would be over 10 m, almost 55 m, so if that is where you’re trying to move it to, that will need to be done via help chat.

@DTrain2002
The POI is placed on:
-23.668784, -46.704343

But it should be placed on:
(-23.6687392, -46.7043692)

Is it possible to move it?

Those coordinates seems to be less than 10 m apart, around 6 m from each other, but seem to be in an area that can’t be seen from satellite and Street View, which is most likely why it keeps getting rejected. Regardless of where ML or the community ha rejected this edit, neither can see the Wayspot from the info they have available to them.

At this point, you may have to appeal the edit via Contribution Management and provide additional info for the move, such as a geotagged photo or a splat from the Scaniverse app. If using photos, you may want to look in whatever app store you use for a GPS camera app, whic adds lat/long to the photos you take with it, and upload them to a 3rd party photo sharing site, so you can provide the link(s) to the appeals team. Do keep in mind that you get 2 appeals every 20 days.

Being this is a minor move less than 10 m, help chat typically doesn’t handle these, but being that additional info will need to be provided, you can also try that; help chat does allow you to upload photos instead of providing links.
