I encountered a pokestop that was not in the correct place while I was hiking today. I tried editing the location in the Pokemon GO app, but it kept snapping back to the original location. Can I edit the location via the Wayfarer site somehow? It only shows a ‘report’ option when I select it on the map.
Hello @serioussamurai and welcome to the forum
In game location edits are limited to 10 meters to avoid abuse issues. So this is not considered a bug.
The alternative is to use Help Chat available as a Wayfarer resource
Please be prepared with some evidence of the correct position.
Hope this helps!
That 10 meter limit is kinda… dumb? Why bother submitting a new location if the location is within interaction distance. In my case I had to walk back to where the pokestop was located to be able to change the position, only to find out I couldn’t change it to where it was supposed to be. Not that you can do anything about that policy though.
I went to that help page, and it gives me a list of topics. For location I only see “Location Guidelines” for reviewing and “Hometown and Bonus Locations” for profile settings. Under "Requesting Wayspot Modification or Removal " there is only a help page for reporting abuse and reporting a wayspot, nothing about how to modify a wayspot. There is no entry for anything to do with chat.
There should be an Orange peach buble at the bottom right of the page. This gets you to the Help Chat.
I think that a limited distance makes it easier for community review on the map. But I agree that it’s important to have a way of moving things longer distances when needed. So having an employee review those seems fair to me.
This was put in place because people were abusing edits.

There are screenshots if you go to the post where @elijustrying walked through how to use help chat.
I see. For future reference: That icon is visible on every page, so sending people to the help page is a red herring. Just direct people to the bottom right corner.
but you have to go to the help page for the text box to pop up in the first place. let me find how i usually say it when i am helping and let me know if this is a good way to do it.
something like this
took me a while to find one. maybe i talk too much here.
That’s not true for me. I need to go to the help page first. I can’t even imagine how annoying that would be if it was up on the Map or Review page all the time.
To be fair it may be something in how I typically interact with the iPhone/ipad. I don’t remember what it’s like on a laptop or other phone.
once i have activated it, i can get rid of the box by refreshing. otherwise, it stays up across other tabs.
For me as well. I hadn’t tracked what made it disappear again though!
