I just need agreements

I am not a big “Wayfarer” fan.
Sometimes it feels like a bunch of self-aggrandizing gate-keepers imposing their will on a community that is trying to play a game. Bureaucrats always seem to find ways to infiltrate our lives.
I was very disappointed to see a medal in game dedicated to agreements in “Wayfarer”. Now, in order to have ALL platinum medals, I need to comment and get agreements in a forum I don’t really enjoy. Hopefully I will get a lot of agreements from people that feel the same way and will also get agreements from people who disagree so I don’t have to post anymore on their beloved site. Maybe people can leave a one word response and get their agreements too.

You do not need agreements on the forum,

Need to review nominations and/or and submit yours, add photos, etc:

Where “Agreement (Reviewing)” means that when you review a nomination and decide to accept a good candidate, and the community also accepts it, you get +1 agreement. Likewise, if you review a nomination that is clearly bad and reject it, and the community rejects it as well, that is another +1 agreement. However, you do not need to agree with other reviewers on 100% of nominations. I think reviewers typically agree on about 60–70% of cases. The rest fall into a grey area where reviewers apply their experience and common sense differently.

Hey @LeviMaximus ,

Welcome back to the Wayfarer Community Forum.

Sorry to hear that. Please let me know if you have any specific issues that you want us to address.

This is absolutely incorrect and egregious. Wayfinders are a group of very passionate players of Niantic games that choose to follow the criteria and guidelines.

Wayfinders are players and not some bureaucrats.

No. Agreements are awarded for reviews, not comments. When your analysis of a nomination ultimately matches the decision of the community, you get an agreement.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Best,

Hello and Welcome back @LeviMaximus

You appear to be under a fundamental misunderstanding of part of the wayfarer system.
It’s good to have a personal target around medals, but you need not post here.
This is a forum for fellow wayfinders to discuss issues so please treat them with respect if you decide to post.

If you wish to work towards the medal do review wayspots. If you stick to the rules with your reviews you will get agreements. If you dont review correctly then it will take a long time to reach your goal.

If you do start reviewing then this might help you understand the rules and help you get agreements. I love reviewing because I get to see the cool murals and things that people found all over my country and I know I’m adding new waypoints to improve the game. It also means denying things in places unsafe to play or not appropriate like on someone’s lawn or elementary school.

As others have stated, the medal is for reviewing wayspots. I also started reviewing last year just to get the medal, it really isn’t very difficult to get the medal. The best way is just to follow the acceptance criteria, as most wayfarers will use this as guidance. I don’t think wayfarers in general are too strict. Probably in general the majority of wayspots are accepted (looking at my agreements).

But bad wayspots usually are rejected, so yes it will also help you to get agreements if you reject bad wayspots. Some nominations are unfortunately very easy to reject, certainly those for incorrect location, unsafe location or at a school or single family private property.

My advice is just to act in good faith, if you feel a wayspot is good enough to be in the game, make sure you accept the wayspot. Some people don’t like rejecting wayspots, so they just skip those. I really don’t see the point in doing so as most bad wayspots are usually rejected straight away.

Finally, most wayfarers actually do this to get more wayspots in the game, without all those volunteers it would take forever to get more wayspots accepted.

To get started you’ll need to sign in to your wayfarer homepage. https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/ this is also where you can see and edit any waypoint nomination you made and by reviewing other people’s nominations you can earn upgrades to get yours voted on quicker. Even without an upgrade, nominations get reviewed pretty fast and recently people get a result in under a week in populated areas.
