Medalla Wayfarer

No me aparece la medalla de Wayfarer en Pokémon Go y ya tengo varias aportaciones

Hello and welcome,

The wayfarer medal is based on reviewing, not on submissions you send for wayspots. If you have read criteria you can start reviewing, a couple days later the medal will show up in Pokemon Go.

Do note that it is based on agreements, so if you reject something while the rest of the reviewers accept it, your medal will not go up. If something is accepted/rejected and you made the same decision as the rest of the community reviewing that submission you will get a point towards an upgrade and your medal.

The Wayfarer medal in Pokémon GO is based on Agreements for reviewing. Not for submitting.

In addition to what has already been stated, agreements only count towards your wayfarer medal when your reviewer rating is in good or great standing. If you drop to fair or poor standing, you will not be able to earn progress to the medal until you’ve got yourself back in good standing.

Hello @NclsZavala ,

Welcome to Wayfarer Community Forum.

Please allow me to explain how agreements work and their impact on medals in Pokémon GO. Only agreements made while in good or great standing contribute to your progress towards the medal, which could contribute to a possible display difference between your medal progress and Wayfarer profile.

If you do not have any agreements while in good or great standing, you will not receive the medal.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best,

I have a follow-up question, and thank you for keeping this discussion open!

According to an old AMA:

So, let’s say I’m reviewing something that IS safe, appropriate, accurate, permanent, and distinct, but is NOT a great place to explore, exercise, or socialize. For example, a neighborhood sign. I don’t want to misrepresent it, so I give four thumbs up on the first criteria, and three thumbs down on the last.

Question is: under what circumstances should that :+1::+1::+1::+1:/:-1::-1::-1: review generate an “agreement”?

  • If others agree and the nomination is accepted as a result?
  • If others agree and the nomination is rejected as a result?
  • If the majority votes close to :+1::+1::+1::+1:/:-1::-1::-1: regardless of the outcome?
  • Or never?

This does not reject the wayspot. This is extremely counter-intuitive, but in order to reject a submission because it doesn’t meet any of social, exercise or exploration, you have to give an explicit thumbs down to one of Appropriate, Safe, Accuracy or Permanent and Distinct.

The most common choice is to thumbs down for Permanent and Distinct, using the interpretation that distinct means something out of the ordinary. This is official advice from Niantic, but I haven’t kept the link to the relevant comment.

Here is what Help center has to say:

Agreements are earned when your decision on a nomination ultimately aligns with the majority decision made by other Explorers; whether the nomination is approved or rejected.

An ant colony succeeds because the tropes successfully followed by each individual ant sum up to a benefit for the entire collective group.

Crowd-sourcing needs this same interconnectedness. The odds that the majority will follow the same counter-intuitive anti-pattern are very low.

In other words, following all of The Company’s hints seems like it will lead to lower agreement scores than are garnered by the majority’s less-considered actions. This seems wrong.

That’s why we have guidelines in place. It is expected of Wayfinders to be familiar with the criteria before engaging in Wayfarer (or anything else in the world for that matter).

We have checks and balances to counter this. Voting against the criteria does lead to actions upto and including termination of privileges.
