Niantic prohibits cheating, and we constantly take steps to improve our anti-cheat measures. Cheating includes any action that attempts to or actually alters or interferes with the normal behavior or rules of a Service. Cheating includes, but is not limited to, any of the following behavior, on your own behalf or on behalf of others:
Accessing Services in an unauthorized manner (including using modified or unofficial third party software);
Playing with multiple accounts for the same Service;
Sharing accounts;
Using any techniques to alter or falsify a deviceās location (for example through GPS spoofing); and/or
I appreciate that from your responses you are viewing this differently, but what you have described is the very definition of sharing an account. Your brother is using your account. It is enabling you to be in one place whilst your account is being used in another to circumvent the distance rules for submissions. Since the offence was picked up by Pokemon Go that must also have included logging onto the game.
Take time to think about this and by all means appeal as anyone is entitled to do.
But you might be better to reflect on this and learn what I am sure is a very painful lesson.
I have not shared my account; it is the same account and the same phone we have always used to play. The only thing I did was access Wayfarer from the computer. We donāt have two phones; it has always been the same phone. Thatās why I donāt understand. @cyndiepooh@TjoeMi
Iām not trying to convince anyone; Iām just explaining my situation. Iāve received more responses on this post than on Discord channels where I asked how to contact someone.
I already visited the link you shared, found a ban appeal form, filled it out, and submitted it. I received an almost immediate response by email, obviously an automatic message. I will wait to see if someone actually responds to my case.
From experience with forms I have submitted to Niantic, this is standard procedure: an automated reply that acknowledges receipt of the form, then a person will follow up. Please let us know how it goes for you.
