If our nominations don't get accepted by the end of the challenge

… will that mean it won’t get added to our total / tally and won’t get the rewards?

Nope, all you have to do is submit, not have edits decided on by the end.

That’s what I thought, but just wanted to make sure.

That update post about not being able to give us a count because of all the spam does bring up an interesting point though.

Does not being able to give us a count mean that the ones they don’t think should count will not be counted towards our individual rewards?

At a guess, I would expect it to take about 18 years for Niantic to work through the spam… then we will get the rewards…

Yeah, just

‘…submit an edit’.

‘x edits submitted’

‘…tiers are based on number of wayspot edits submitted…’

‘…based on how many edits you submit…’

only ML tier relates to ‘auto-accepts’ or ‘approved edits’

When I read that I thought that is gonna be trouble.

How do you then go back and say ‘Oh nah, we meant legit edits. No spamming or abuse.’

Sure, go ahead and use your abuse mechanism (maybe it will get rid of some multi-accounters, etc.) :crossed_fingers: (not holding my breath), but based on the wording surely they have to count those tiers by the submits and just tighten up the wording next time.

Eh, I honestly don’t think it’d be that hard for them to filter out most of the abuse. I kinda suspect that the majority of people spamming poor edits aren’t going to be particularly creative, so a lot of it is probably going to be 600 edits and 600 photos of the floor from someone’s 20 accounts on someone’s couch pokestop.

Sure, a bunch will still slip through, but I don’t think we’re going to see massive changes to the numbers after the event.

Cheaters get removed from competitions all the time.

It’s disingenuous to allow the contributions of those who were abusing the system to count towards the goal. We should be achieving the goal within the rules of Wayfarer, while not specifically stated the rules are the rules and need to be followed at all times.

I, for one, wouldn’t want any rewards if I knew people abusing the system pushed the results over the top.
