Wayspot Title: Spielplatz am Riedweg
Location: 52.359189, 10.11446
City: Hämelerwald
Country: Germany
Additional Information:
This playground was probably deleted because someone thought it was on school property. But this is clearly not true. The following pictures are intended to illustrate this again. As a former student on the neighboring school grounds, I can clearly say that students are not allowed to go there during school hours. It can also be seen correctly on OSM.
(And by the way, this wayspot was also a long-term portal of an Ingress agent with over 1000 days. For this reason, I personally find it even worse that someone has reported this valid wayspot, as this can probably not be undone).

Do you now if there is any signage at the playground saying students aren’t allowed during school hours, or any documentation stating this isn’t on school grounds? Just looking it on the maps, it appears to be on school grounds, if those extend all the way to the streets.
I see it listed as a high school, so I’m thinking that it’s teenagers that attend, but it’s still unclear from satellite and Street View that it’s not on school grounds, hence why more documentation may be needed.
I know this is a bit difficult to confirm via satellite image.
But I can show here again that the playground on the side of the school is not marked only the one of the school (on the picture from the school side in Light green) see both pictures. And also the school grounds in the area (on the picture from the school side in beige, but it is not so accurate than it is on OSM) roughly as it can also be seen on OSM only a little simplified

OSM isn’t always correct, just like other online maps; I regularly correct errors on Google Maps. I’d also like to think Niantic uses a few different map sources, especially since Google Maps is used for nominations and location edits.
Typically, Niantic is looking for some sort of official documentation, and I’m not seeing anything on the school’s website noting the playground isn’t on school grounds. If this playground is managed by the local government or park district, Niantic may need info from them.
To wrap this up for you, it’s not about what you think the evidence here is enough, but what the Niantic employees say about it. So let them decide whether my evidence is enough for them.
And just from past appeals similar to this, Niantic will need additional documentation that this playground is not on school grounds. Nothing you have provided so far officially states this. The school’s website wasn’t even helpful after reviewing it, as I found nothing on there talking about the playground.
We’re just trying to help you here in the forums, and based off of the info provided, i highly doubt that this Wayspot will be restored without some additional evidence.
I did mention signage at the park, such as a photo, may be acceptable, as long as it notes that the playground is off-limits during school hours, and, this may be most helpful, that it’s not managed by the school, but another local entity. Photos may be the easiest to obtain.
Another option would be if the local entity that manages this has a website, and they have info about this specific playground on there. The park district in the city I live in has individual info on all the parks, playgrounds, and other facilities they manage on their website; it has helped me in appealing rejected edits, especially title edits.
Thank you.
I also found the official website the city uses to list their parks and playgrounds, and here’s the link to this specific one.

Thanks for the appeal, @jankrabbe. We have taken another look but stand by our decision to retire this Wayspot.
