We had a public playground as a wayspot (Pokestop) for many years in our public park. For no reason it disappeared two weeks ago. After one week it came back. We got another wayspot in our cell during this time so the Pokestop changed to a Gym when it came back. After one day it disappeared again. Now, our Pokémon are stuck in this Gym. It says “Gym is currently closed”. Please restore this wayspot. Thanks!
Wayspot title: Spielplatz

hello @futurefeli
First this is not a wayfarer question as such.
When this happens to gyms the pokemon are returned within a few days, so don’t worry they will be back.
It does sound as though some location editing has been taking place hence the appearance/ disappearance pattern. Hopefully everything is in the correct locations and there will be a recalculation of the what is selected for Pokemon Go and it will all settle down again.
Thank you for your quick response! Yes, so far every Pokestop/Gym in the picture is at the real location of the poi and additional in a seperate cell and far enough from each other. In terms of the recalculation - is this an automatic procedure or is it something, Niantic has activly to start?
I think it is routine or at least that is what seems to happen. This includes the close and rebuilding of the gyms. Since the sync between the Wayfarer database and the game happens once a day normally it can take a few days for changes to settle down.
It’s 4 days now so I’m afraid something else happened, so that the Gym won’t come back without some additional action. And - is it only the gym in PoGo or is it the wayspot in general, that was removed?
It is live in Ingress so I think the wayspot should still be in the database if it has been 4 days.

A lot of my friends who raid a LOT see the closed gym message a lot, but it goes away when they restart. Is that the case for you? I don’t know if this is a bug from Pokemon Go or from Wayfarer, because I don’t know the status of the Wayspots it affects.
No, that’s not the case here. The gym is not in the game anymore.

Hi @futurefeli, please contact our team via help chat for assistance with this concern. Thank you.
Edit: To access the Chat feature, please log in to your Wayfarer account and navigate to the Help section.
The reason for this is that “Spielplatz” was moved into the same Level 17 S2 Cell as “Blauer Delphin”.
When a Pokéstop or Gym is moved into a Level 17 S2 Cell that already contains another Pokéstop or Gym, the intended behaviour is that the one being moved is removed from the game map to comply with the proximity rules used in game.
The reappearing and disappearing is a bug. It should have simply disappeared and remained that way.
Any Pokémon that were in the Gym when it disappeared should come back with full health and no coins, but it can sometimes take a couple of days for this to happen. If it’s been longer than that and your Pokémon are still inaccessible, then you will need to contact Pokémon Go support about it.

Thanks for that helpful information! Now the only question is, can someone help to change back the wayspot to its real place and original cell? As I’m only playing PoGo, I don’t have access to this wayspot to request the correction of the location like I can in PoGo.
Looking at what you’ve provided and what I have found elsewhere, it appears that the previous location was inaccurate and not on the play area, so I doubt Niantic would undo the edit, as the current location is the accurate one.
This playground has extensions into multiple cells as it is located at a crossing of four cells. But it is possible to have an accurate position for the wayspot in the cell with the main entrance of the playground – like it was for many years – visible on the picture provided. The blue rectangle is the playground and the blue box was the original location for years.
Then it got moved to the left to the wrong side of the way for a few years. It seems, someone corrected that but moved the wayspot to the center of the playground and this lies in the “Dolphin” cell.
So if anyone could help to restore the original location at the main entrance – that would be great as this wayspot is one of the oldest from our area and makes absolutely sense to have it as a stop/gym in PoGo.

Thanks for that information, @NianticAtlas . I opended a ticket in the chat (# 31430133).
Thank you all! With your help to understand the root cause of the problem and the help of the Niantic Wayfarer Team, we got the wayspot back to the original cell and that brought back our gym right now!
