I want a Pogo map… now! now! now!
Wasn’t sure where to add this, but a weird thing that I would hope the Ingress team resolve by removing the Power Spots “layer”.
Power Spot nearby for a business that doesn’t exist. Reported, accepted, removed. No longer on Pokémon GO map.
When I go to nominate something in Ingress, the Power Spot is still on the duplicates map. Potentially confusing to any new Ingress submitters maybe.
if they have to remove them from the pokemon go nomination map screen in order to move them from the ingress map, i would not be mad.
There is now a Rejection Criteria page.
Still no natural feature … so why dk the appeals team hate my whangie … nomination
I was surprised to see those still visible when I tried nominating something in Ingress. It isn’t just power spots though, I saw at least one wayfarer submission that for some reason isn’t used in that game, even though it should be far enough away from everything else. Weird.
Guess they still have more bugs to iron out. But that’s nothing new lol
I would guess they just hit the switch to turn the nominations back on. Any map edits could come later down the line.
Is this now the Ingress/Recon thread on the forums?
I’ve been spoiled by being able to submit the portals and then edit them afterwards. I went trail marker hunting and prepared the text in advance, but (in Android at least) there’s a weird Ingress bug when copy-and-pasting text when the game doesn’t realise that you’ve entered text if you just paste something and won’t let you submit. You need to manually edit the pasted text (add a space, for example) and it works OK.
I know potentially I could leave the submissions to submit later, but I think that will also interfere with uploading portal scans.
Ingress nominations are off again. Maybe the review system is being prepared.
Ingress Review Challenge incoming?
OPR Live tick? Sounds good to me.
Back up now
While the Ingress nominations were off yesterday scanning was disabled as well yesterday along with the Portal Contributions tab in Settings being missing during that time period.
Most likely because they (portal scan uploads and portal nominations) use the same place to be uploaded in Portal Contributions. Both got disabled sometime after the previous septicycle ended which I think was about sometime after 5pm BST. It was sometime about 7pm BST when the Portal Contributions tab returned in Settings thus allowing everything to be to uploaded again.
* Abusive location
Locations that are intentionally and strategically placed to provide advantage to a single player or collective group. Or location edits that attempt to move the Wayspot away from the object with which it’s associated (for example, moving the Wayspot to a different city/country or moving it to a more convenient location).
Does that means things like Woolwich Barracks Table Tennis Table, Woolwich Barracks Central Gateway, Outdoor Exercise Equipment in Woolwich which only by being accessed by being a services personnel at the Woolwich Barracks along with Charlton Athletics Training Pitch 2 and Bust of Pierre Bolangi in New Eltham which can only be accessed by going in the training ground at Sparrows Lane if one is is a football referee (aka a soccer referee to those in North America) or a player?
Just to note that the current Wayfarer criteria says the same thing, so it’s not new.
As for Wayspots/Portals that may seem accessible to only a small number of players, these have generally been fine, so it doesn’t seem like that statement should be taken in the way you’ve read it.
I believe that this title of the rejection criteria should be “Abusive location edit”. I think the criteria should be that Wayspot should not be moved if it is already in the correct location. For example, the position of a Wayspot in a park can be at the entrance or in the middle, as long as it is within the park. The location of the Wayspot is a concession, and moving it will benefit one person or group of people. We interpret this to mean that even if it is in a somewhat odd position, it should not be moved if it is within the object’s range.
