Invalid removal of Gym in Pokemon Go. Portal still There

Is it possible that those trails might temporarily be closed for winter or something like that?

No people use them all winter. We’ve had a ton of snow in the last few weeks, but it’s the same at all the parks.

Ok then I am confused how these keep getting removed. Also, I would suggest nominating something else at this church if the cells are favorable, perhaps any of the stained glass?

And seeing as it is the sole restaurant pehaps the Pizza Hut/ mural there?

There is actually a waypoint I am planning to submit close to that church. I had no idea you could submit individual elements at a church! No mural at the Pizza Hut, unfortunately

Thanks for all the suggestions, by the way, that’s very kind of you :slightly_smiling_face:

@NianticAaron I had my husband brave the snow to get a current picture of the trail and make sure the sign is still there! Here it is

I have reinstated it.

Thank you very much, Aaron! I’m sorry I had to bother you with this again, but I really appreciate the help! Is there anyway to flag this waypoint so that it doesn’t keep happening?

Hi Wooperlooper! I was looking back at your reply of helpful submissions in my area and I was wondering if you could share how you got that first map image? That looks like a very handy tool!

There are no official tools to show the cell lines, although the map of wayspots can be found at Niantic Wayfarer

The websites which have the non-official tools cannot be linked from here, but if you search for the wayfarer discussion discord, this should take you to them.

Thanks very much!

Please use the cells only to choose where to put a wayspot when there is a legitimate choice of location, such as a football field where you have a lot of boundary spots that are all equivalent.

For things that only have one possible location, such as a noticeboard, don’t use the cell boundaries to misplace the wayspot in the hope of getting something that is legitimately blocked.

Yes, of course! There’s really not much here to submit, so I’m not even sure I would get the opportunity to use it, but it’s still cool to see how it all maps out! Thanks again

That’s a standard warning. I suspect one of the reasons the use of S2 cells is not acknowledged by Niantic is that it would increase the number of people trying to abuse the cells and mislocating things. It is already clear that some people do abuse the cells, since some of them come onto this forum and complain about having been banned, let alone the nonsense people write on social media.

For areas that don’t have a lot, knowing about the cells can help, because it can be disappointing to find a wayspot accepted, but not appear in Pokemon Go even though had it been legitimately placed a few metres away it would have appeared.

Yeah that’s actually happened here. I used to play Ingress and there was a baseball diamond that was submitted too close to another wayspot, so we could use it in Ingress, but not in Pokemon go.
