Hi I had this nomination accepted in August 2023.

Recently I noticed it has disappeared and I’m not sure why as it is publically accessible and has been here for about 100 years. I’m looking for an answer as to why niantic removed this one and if this could be restored?

It could have been an owner request from one of the adjacent houses. In which case nothing can be done…

It could have been someone thinking this was PRP.
It does look confusing in particular the garage door which you might assume opened onto PRP. However that is not always the case.
If you back to streetview 2021 and 2019 you can see an information board.

That along with road sign and the fact the pump has always been on communal space would in my view show this not PRP. The owners of the garage may or may not have right of access.

There is also a bench on the green. Information board used to be a poi but melted during a heatwave and was removed instead of being replaced

North Somerset Portal have a GIS portal here - Planning constraints portal

This wayspot is on the corner of Clevedon Road and Hill Lane. If you select “Common land and town or village greens” in the GIS, it shows that area of land as being in that category (I added a big arrow to make it more clear)

Bing has the best view of the location - Bing Maps - Directions, trip planning, traffic cameras & more

You can see that the garage door does open directly onto the green, and the green itself is not private property. I have to say, that it does look very much like private property from StreetView, but the council GIS system states otherwise.

Yeah I’d agree it doesn’t look like private property and given its original function, I would expect this to be public land.

The map is great supporting evidence for that too

I wonder what the reason was for the removal - complaint or (inaccurately) private property or something else?

Thanks for sharing. I would like Niantic to clarify why they removed this but hoping this makes a case for it being returned to the games

At this point it’s a case of wait and see what the Wayfarer Team decides.
It often takes awhile.

It’s reappeared on the ingress intel map now

Thanks for the appeal, @vipzmcswag. We gave this a second look and decided to restore the Wayspot in question.
