I don't understand Niantic

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Wolseley Trust Memorial
  • Location (lat/lon): 50.3875345, 4.1668382
  • City: Plymouth
  • Country: United Kingdom
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any):

I recently noticed that an old Mural in my local area of Beacon Park has been painted over. I submitted to say the stop no longer needs to be there as the Mural doesnt exist anymore. This got rejected and the stop is still there.

The gym I have flagged is in Private property. If I want to go and see what the gym is. I cannot. They have security on the gate so you’re not able to go in and have a look. This too also got rejected this morning.

I’ve submitted stops before which meet the criteria and some will get rejected for reasons which also include being on private property. This is also while the stop is on public land.

Ive also had routes been rejected because they go onto private land. Again I’ve created 3 routes and all 3 are on public footpaths.

Im really struggling with Niantic now and I just dont understand. This used to be such a delightful thing to do but now its become such a pain. I give up.

Okay I need to break this down to get out the right bits.

Did you add supporting information to your report? You have posted in the right part of the forums to appeal this removal request but not provided additional information. You can edit your post to do that.

This sounds like it is a business, and not a private residence which is what private property falls under. You can have Wayspots (if there are eligible things there) at businesses.

The tooltip for private property rejection shows:

  1. Private property - A single family private residential property (even if historical), farmland, etc.

Routes are nothing to do with Wayfarer which this forum is for. You would need to raise this within your Pokémon GO app.

Can you share some of these (better in a separate thread) and then we can see if it was a valid rejection or provide help on how to get them accepted.

Just like PkmnTrainerJ I’m also a little bit confused - if this is a post for appealing your rejected in-game removal requests, then information about specific wayspots, your rejection emails and your evidence need to be provided, if it is a post announcing your frustration and departure from Wayfarer then it doesn’t need to be in the Wayspot Appeals section (sorry, we need to keep posts in this section clear and properly formatted for the team to be able to help a maximum of people here).

For now I am moving this to General Discussion - please feel free to add the missing information about the wayspots and we will move it back, or start a new thread specifically for the appeal. Please note that as said above, restricted access (eg. in gated communities) is not a removal criterion as long as a subset of people who are allowed to do so can access the wayspot safely.

And it is very frustrating to not manage to remove something at first attempt, but do not overthink this - it is not uncommon for even very clear cases of in-game reports to be rejected as it is hard to provide a lot in the way of evidence in what is just a small text field. This is why we have this forum system. Happy to give further feedback on specific wayspots.
