Is there anyway of Wayfarer giving us an option to reply to an appeal?

Is there anyway for wayfarer to give us an option to reply on an appeal that they say they need further information on without having to waste an appeal or fully resubmit?

Or could one of the Niantic reps look at something for me?

No, an appeal is a one time shot at making your case on how a nomination was wrongly rejected. If they advise to improve on your nomination, then you need to do that on a fresh new attempt.

Hello,

Are you able to share more info about the appeal that they are asking for more info? Most times, if an appeal is rejected, they are stating that you should resubmit with additional info about why it should be accepted, not actually asking for more info to be provided for the appeal.

Can you clarify what your scenario is please.
Have you a case where you feel the outcome of the appeal is wrong?
People normally just post it in a thread like this.
And sometimes the wayspot gets approved if a good case is made.

Yes the said the were unable to verify the location of a building . It is clearly visible on Google maps and the address under the submission even is correct. I provided full details unless they want a new listing or want me to use that new scaniverse thing…which wouldn’t be an issue if they told me how to use it and I could reply with the scan or whatever.

If that is the only reason the appeals team gave for rejecting your appeal, I would post a screenshot of the appeal statement and then provide evidence here that proves it. Every now and then people will quietly get an email reversing the decision when they can show that the appeals decision was wrong. Not just a matter of opinion.

They said they were unable to verify the existence of the building at the specified location at the present time and to resubmit with supporting…it is clearly visible on Google maps. The photos I took were within the last few days and I provided all the details in the supporting including link to an article from a raid station, A Facebook page and even a quick Google search of same would have pulled up loads of articles from various places.

If they wanted me to use the scaniverse thing I would have after learning how to use it, but a link to forward it to would have been helpful instead of having to go and resubmit everything and waste an appeal.

Wish they would just provide a link in an appeal decision to forward requested info. Taking another photo or doing the scan thing isn’t an issue. The building is there…we’ll it was as of an hour ago.:joy::joy:

Was this an appeal from Contribution Management, or did you request a location edit via help chat? I feel like it could be either, but I’m leaning towards help chat more. Screenshots would be helpful here.

Location edits typically aren’t something I will appeal, even if I can provide more info, as usually they aren’t too much of a move, or one that will cause a big change.

No it was a submission. The Niantic note on it said the could not verify the existence of the building at the present time and to resubmit with supporting and they recommend resubmitting with articles or other evidence to prove it’s existence and that would greatly increase its chances of being approved…I’m guessing best bet is resubmit and use the scaniverse thing?

Just wish you could just reply with the requested info instead of a full resubmit which is mainly my point.

I think providing screenshots here would still be helpful, to see where to go from here. It’s possible that staff may be able to take a better look at the appeal, and if they do believe that the appeals team may have made a mistake, they can reverse it.

I’ll try resubmit and see how it goes, it’s just annoying not being able to provide what would take 20 mins of a walk to do with the scaniverse thing. I’ll download that now and use it on the next appeal.

Main point is a link to return such information would make it so much easier because it’s a roll of the dice with a full new resubmit and there is no way to draw attention to the previous advice. At least if you can provide the requested info that should strengthen the original appeal, it may still fail but it saves the hassle of having to prepare it all again.

Again, you can submit screenshots here. Staff has said that if you believe an appeal was rejected in error to let them know by posting screenshots here in the forums. You may not have to submit the location edit again if you provide the screenshots, and staff is able to take a second look.

The appeals team does make mistakes from time to time, and staff does want to know about them. This was noted in the last AMA:

As in feedback, staff is referring to bad appeal decisions, and they would like evidence, which the screenshots provide. Again, it could be reversed if you provide screenshots, but there’s no guarantee. They and the ambos will also take your feedback into account, but right now, if there is a bad appeal decision, please share screenshots.

The appeal is meant to be the only chance to question the decision.
So I think it unlikely that people would be given a second chance on the same submission to present evidence, as an appeal of the appeal.
Occasionally people post here with the full details and the decision gets reversed.
If that is not the route you want to try, then a fresh submission is only route.
