The reason for rejection received by Niantic is difficult to understand

Please provide:

  • A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected
  • Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
  • Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
  • If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

First of all, thank you to those who answered my previous post sincerely.

I finally got a rejection answer, but the reason is a little hard to understand. I received feedback from here before appealing, and after writing as much information as possible to this community, I attached a link to it, which came back. Only text can be written during the appeal. So I wrote information in this community that I need a Niantic reviewer, and attached a link to the post I wrote. However, the reason why it is impossible to confirm its existence is hard to understand. What do you think? Rather, I can understand if it was rejected because it was considered a non-unique object, business building, or regular restaurant. A reviewer who refused to appeal is doubtful if he checked the link I attached.

I can resubmit it, but due to the practice of our community, you will be rejected again, and you will have to appeal again. The process of appealing requires the submitter to spend a lot of time and limited resources (appeal rights), and this kind of answer seems to ignore the submitter.

Is there any possibility of approval after appeal? its link

I did not comment on the possibility of resubmitting this because I don’t have any idea what you are submitting. The appeals team reviewer explained that you will have to take a great supporting photo since it is difficult to confirm location. The supporting photo will need to show the point of interest from further back and include items which can be identified on satellite view to help the reviewer.

If you have to appeal again after a new rejection, you can make a splat to confirm location. That process is described here: Leveling Up Your Appeals and Removal Reports

I have not used that app, so can’t help with Scaniverse.

Is there a problem?

Looks like they need better proof that the object exists in the location you submitted it. Probably means that you can’t see it from satellite or Google submited streetview or photos.

Resubmit and start the process again, I would recommend use a GPS camera for the supporting photo.
This is the one I use for when the location isn’t obvious

Good luck.

To answer your original question, the best course of action after an appeal is denied is to resubmit and take the advice they have given.

This is in South Korea, so reviewers there have to use a different map while reviewing, since Google Maps isn’t available there. I would have included the other map link instead of the forum link in your appeal; I don’t know if the appeals teams uses more than just Google Maps or OSM, even in areas where those aren’t available.

Also, I remember that there could be improvements to this nomination, which I provided. I did recommend to resubmit not appeal because of the improvements that could be made. @cyndiepooh, if interested, here’s the original post.

This is not factual.

Well, interesting that staff didn’t say it was resolved…

Also, don’t just say “This isn’t correct.” Explain.

Please dont target me or take this off topic. I made a simple statement, end of story.

You did not explain why it was not correct, and this is confusing. I had to go searching the forum to find the answer, when you could have said it was resolved back in November/December 2024, being you know this.

I do not like simple, and you could have added that this issue was resolved to explain. I didn’t know it was resolved, and most not in South Korea may not either. Again, confusing just saying “this isn’t correct.”

You are making lots of assumptions, all I had to share was that its not true as google is available in South Korea.

But you didn’t say that the issue had been resolved. I knew it was a known issue, but nothing had been posted from staff that it had been resolved. See how that’s confusing, just telling someone they are wrong when they don’t even know?

My understanding is that in theory Google Maps is available BUT it is/has been fairly restricted in functionality / accuracy and for a long time. The same thing for Apple Maps.

Hence the use of either kakaomaps and Naver Maps by locals and visitors.

But for local reviewers who know this. Would that be a problem as every nomination would have the same issue…

This is all theory from the comfort of my armchair!!!

Yes, this was my understanding as well. However, it appears to have been resolved, as South Korean users are saying that Google Maps does work there now, but staff has never confirmed in the Known Issue thread that it was.

And yes, the OP did provide Naver links to help us find them when asking if they should appeal. I really didn’t look at the links, as my main focus was on improving the descriptions (titles weren’t provided).

The Wayfarer review solved the problem of not being able to see Google Maps and satellites.
But I don’t know why, but it’s still the same that you can’t see the satellite on the map you see by pressing Google.
