It got passed eMiLy but sadly rejected by community. I would appreciate if i can get feedback on this.. basically this is the end of jogging line in this straight line
I think that reviewers may have been saying they did not think it was distinct since you can see it in the photo for an existing portal. (I said portal instead of wayspot since I am looking on iitc at portals.)
I really don’t know how Niantic appeals reviewers will feel about another marker for the trail so close to this one. It could help prove it is there if you point out that it can be seen in the background of this photo, or it could make them uphold the not “Distinct” rejection.
I think this mile marker (meter marker?) has value on its own merits to encourage exercise, so I would appeal, but can’t make any promises.
I can’t speak to this specific marker, but I will say I’ve had incredibly good luck appealing trail markers along a walking trail. Don’t quote me on these numbers, but I’d guess about half were just accepted by the Wayfarer community, every single one I appealed was accepted as a valid Wayspot by Niantic, regardless of how close or how far they are from other trail markers (perhaps due to being given a distinct name that distinguishes from other trail markers on the trail, which you’ve done here by noting the 750m mark).
Which is to say it’s worth appealing. No guarantees with the appeals process, but in my experience Niantic staff recognizes trail markers are good places for exploration/exercising.
In fact it exist every 100m. So 150,250,350,450,550,750
I never submit trail before so i am wondering how i do it. If its too close, i can consider skipping some of it
I think that will all come down to individual reviewer’s interpretation of “distinct.”
When reviewing content, Niantic states a location is considered distinct “when in the immediate area, the location is visually distinct enough to identify.” In the photo associated with this post, I can clearly see the Jogging Marker is labeled 750m. I assume the others are labeled similarly. This leads me to believe if I were in that jogging path, I could distinguish between the 750m marker and the 550m marker, as well as the other markers. Of course, other Wayfarers might not consider that difference to be enough of a visual distinction.
Hi @TjoeMi
I’d base the appeal on the following statement to explain the distinctness:
And support the location issue with:
Maybe with a link to your forum post where your photos can be seen?
If not accepted on appeal and you give resubmitting a try I’d adress your quoted additional infos in the supporting text. But not the forum link as that could might be seen as influencing.
