Large Entrance signs along a sidewalk to a community

Hello. This was rejected because it temporary or seasonal? This has been here for almost 20 years, its on a main sidewalk, and open to the public. Can i get clarification as to why this is rejected?

Please provide:

  • A screenshot of your nomination, including rejection reasons if it has already been rejected
  • Include the title, description, both photos, and supplemental information
  • Copy and paste the title, description and supplemental so others can translate them
  • If you feel comfortable please share the location, as it is helpful (i.e. hidden duplicates), but you can mask it if you wish.

What happened when you used the Appeal button?

There is no options to appeal present. :frowning:

It’s temp/seasonal or not distinct

Unfortunately most community entrance signs are often rejected since they are just mere signs.

Usually the fancy ones that has a fountain or statues will be accepted :+1:t2::+1:t2:

You probably used an appeal previously , I believe it’s every 20 days for an appeal :+1:t2:

Have you used both of yours in the last 20 days?

I did not know there was a limited amount of appeals. Good to know. I submitted two others recently and the original denials was overturned (one turned into a gym = happy). We have these types of signs, gated communites, and desert lol.

I recently started a conversation about one of these being a Featured Wayspot. Imo, they are just advertising for the real estate, not a great place to be social, exercise, or explore. You can read a lot of differing opinions on that topic:

These are bus stops for the kids in the mornings and afternoons.

I would not say a place you can wait for a bus is a great place to exercise, explore, or be social either.

I would think that kids and parents meeting each morning / afternoon for 8 years every day 2 times a day would be a place to be social.

Hello @Xedicus Welcome to the forum

You have 2 appeals you can use every 20 days will get a chance to appeal.
However you will need to be clear how this meets the basic criteria:
Great place to either be social, explore or exercise.
Because it is likely to be viewed as something fairly standard that is why you have the not distinct reason
If you appeal you will need to persuade reviewers why those don’t apply.

Great. Thank you for a substantive response. Appreciate the help!

I am asking you the challenging questions, so you will understand what those of us who reject neighborhood signs are seeing. If you can explain why this is more than just a sign, you will have a better chance with it.

A meeting point is not necessarily a social space if they meet and go.
So if they stay you will need to say why.

I don’t see the question about appeals that others are answering but feel like they have answered that part fully for you.

nvm i found it

I can see some hand railings there next to the “crossing” sign – Maybe there is a footbridge there??
