Location edit should include additional photo

This is one of many examples in the local area.
We don’t have Google Street View in most of the country so it’s impossible to determine the location only from the main photo. An additional one from the first nomination would help, or you should upload a new supporting photo when changing location

I totally agree.
If you do a location edit via the help bubble on the Wayfarer site you you can upload helpful evidence. But not via a game.
All types of edits should offer a chance to explain and add something like a photo to help.

In cases like these, I unfortunately reject and hope they can provide the necessary evidence via appeals.

Though, for heavy editors, the rate of appeals being doled out, it feels like it can take forever to be to do that for any given rejection.

Often, when I noticed I have an appeal, I’ll resubmit an edit, expecting a 50/50 chance it’ll get rejected again, but have the appeal info handy when that happens (hopefully the rejection happens quickly!).

This would also be very helpful in appeals also as again there is no way to upload extra images.

You can’t reject edit. And appeal also doesn’t give you option to submit additional photo

In another thread, it was discussed that folks often host additional context for edits on other sites (photos, videos, etc), and links to that can be used during the appeal.

I’ve tried to register on lightship but didn’t get the confirmation email. If you mean that site

The suggestion was to use links to image hostings or file sharing websites (Imgur, Google Drive, Drophox…) for evidence in the form of geotagged photos or screenshots.

I think they meant that they don’t accept the new suggestion. If I can’t tell which is better, I check the “unable to find” box, which does in effect reject the edit.

There are external tools you can add that will show which is the original. But I don’t pick that the original is better if I can’t tell.

Personally if I need to submit an edit, I only use the in game process if it is clear on the map. If it is not, I use help chat.

You know it’s close to impossible to do. I’ve never met such a thing through my many years of reviewing. Even if someone does it it’s 2% of the population, which means a crutch doesn’t work well. We need an “Upload photo” button like there Is when you’re adding a secondary photo to poi

I can’t find the comment now, but one of the first things Ambassador Roli said when they moved the edit appeals to contribution appeals was that we need to have the ability to submit a photo with the appeal like we had when help chat was reviewing them.

I think we would all love to be able to submit an explanation and a photo explaining edits. I am sure the ambassadors are bringing this up. I don’t think it would be an easy programming change for the in game edits. But I don’t think anyone here disagrees with you, and any suggestions made are just workarounds.

Oh I think i found it!

I don’t think you review other people’s appeals, do you?

I am trying to give context to what @nexushoratio was saying people did for their appeals as a way to convey additional information to the appeals team, which you seemed to have understood as having to register on the Lightship website, so I was commenting/clarifying on that. At no point did I say that this was a good solution or that I liked it, or that this had to be done for every single appeal/supporting information field.
