Maybe I am missing something

Submitted this and it got rejected as “The submission is likely not permanent or distinct” and "Nomination is a temporary or seasonal display

Nomination does not appear to be permanent or appears to be a seasonal display that is only put up during certain times of the year".

I know these are not accurate descriptions of why it was rejected, but I am now starting to have second thoughts as to whether these Footpath signs are eligible or not.

Did you provide the link about the Dog Rose footpath?

The description is in my view too short, since the title refers to a public footpath, then briefly gives the name of a specific route.

My approach would have been to write something along lines of ….
A 2km long public footpath from the pedestrian bridge over Western Ave across the golf course. The Dog Rose Ramble follows this path for this section of the longer walk.

The link was in the supporting info. In hindsight, I should have provided a better description, but was being a bit lazy.

Having it in the supplementary was really helpful….but as it doesn’t have a quick map of the route it might have been awkward for a reviewer to make the connection.
You could screenshot the relevant part of the Ramble description to make it easy. But basically a good description of this PROW at 2km long across countryside should be good on its own……and I can see it changes to a bridle way for a longer walk.

I was going to go along the bridleway to finish the route, but the entry point was a bit uneven to attempt to enter, so I might go to the other end of the route to see if it is any easier to enter.

This is possibly the cause of the rejection

I have found that footpath signs on roads, regardless of what they lead to, are harder to get approved than footpath signs on the same path away from the road.

With all the footpath signs I have submitted, not one that was on the pavement adjacent to a road has been rejected. I was a bit distracted yesterday, and could have provided a better description.

You might be lucky or reviewers might have become more generous. My last two rejections for footpath signs leading away from a road were in 2025-10. Unique titles, good photos and descriptions.
